KidStage is a theatre and acting class for kids in grades 1-5! The curriculum includes

concentration, teamwork, improvisation, movement, voice and basic theatre terminology. This time

they will be performing MULAN: In China there is a legend of a great soldier who saved the emperor and

who saved all of China from the monstrous Hun army. This soldier was a girl named Mulan. She was never

very good at her traditional “girl” responsibilities, and no matter what she tried she always ended up

dishonoring her family. Until one day the army came for her aging father and Mulan took his place, breaking

the law and pretending to be a boy so she could serve instead of him to protect his life. With the help of a

lucky cricket, a wise-cracking dragon and a rag tag group of soldiers, Mulan defies tradition, brings honor to

her family and becomes the hero of China!

they will be MULAN: In China there is a legend of a great soldier who saved the emperor and who saved all

of China from the monstrous Hun army. This soldier was a girl named Mulan. She was never very good at

her traditional “girl” responsibilities, and no matter what she tried she always ended up dishonoring her

family. Until one day the army came for her aging father and Mulan took his place, breaking the law and

pretending to be a boy so she could serve instead of him to protect his life. With the help of a lucky cricket,

a wise-cracking dragon and a rag tag group of soldiers, Mulan defies tradition, brings honor to her family

and becomes the hero of China!

Our youth movement and fitness development program is designed for children and their specific developmental needs. The goal of the program is to make improvements in a child’s general fitness; such as endurance, coordination, power, speed and strength.

We use fitness as fun to teach kids proper movement patterns, increase capacity for hard work, boost confidence and acquire team building skills. We create an environment that accommodates kids of various skill levels and even improves kids of elite athletic skill. Modifications will be employed for those who need them. Children will be performing various movements including squats, sprints, jumps, pull-ups, push-ups, etc.

Safety is our top concern, therefore, each class is led by TWO certified/experienced coaches. Our goal is to instruct, correct and apply movement skill in a positive environment that focuses each individual. We're here to build them up, not break them down.

    Registration Checklist

o Enroll your child by following the directions specified below each individual Enrichment class registration Friday, January 19th, 3:00pm to Tuesday, January 30th.

o Fill out the RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND EMERGENCY FORM and turn in to school office and provide a copy to the vendor NO LATER THAN Wednesday, January 31st.

o Turn in scholarship requests to front office NO LATER THAN Thursday, January 25th. (limit one per child please)

o Note the class dates on your personal calendar so you know when your child is in a class and when the class ends. Many of our enrichment providers have obligations after classes end at our school. Please respect them and pick up your children ON TIME. Your child’s opportunity to participate in after school enrichment may be revoked if there is a pattern of late pickup.

o Is your child enrolled in Discovery Link?

Make sure Discovery Link is aware of your child’s participation in enrichment (day, time, etc.), and that you have filled out the Discovery Link release Form allowing your student to sign him/herself out of Discovery Link

On the RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND EMERGENCY FORM, list your child as eligible to sign him/herself out of the enrichment class

    SAFETY POLICIES

***CLASSES END AT THE SCHEDULED TIME. PLEASE PICK YOUR CHILD UP ON TIME***

Homeroom teachers receive a list of all students enrolled in Enrichment classes and will remind them

to go to their scheduled room. Students in Kindergarten and 1st grade will be picked up from their

classrooms before end of day dismissal and delivered to their enrichment instructor. Those students

are to wait in their classrooms until a designated adult comes to take them to their enrichment class.

*Please notify the school if your child will NOT be attending their enrichment class on a

    particular day.

Should classes be cancelled, homeroom teachers will be notified before the end of the school day.

The enrichment class instructor will contact the parent/guardian using the emergency contacts

provided by you. They will make EVERY effort to speak to you in person. It is therefore essential

that you complete the Release of Liability and Emergency Form, and that the contact numbers

you provide are valid and up-to-date. Please try to check messages on days that your child is

attending an Enrichment class. In the event that no personal connection is made and you do not

receive the message, your child will be in the school office or with a Certified Teacher. The Certified

Teacher will post a message in the classroom if she has taken the students to a location that is

    different than the Enrichment classroom.

    DISCOVERY LINK POLICY

YOU MUST FILL OUT THE APPROPRIATE DISCOVERY LINK RELEASE FORM PRIOR TO THE

START OF THE ENRICHMENT SESSION. Additionally, on the RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND

EMERGENCY FORM, you must make sure to designate your child as able to sign him/herself out of

    the Enrichment class.

These procedures are to ensure the safety of YOUR child. Please note, an authorized adult will

always escort Kindergarten and 1st grade students to and from Discovery Link, but the appropriate

paperwork for Discovery Link still needs to be completed.
