Hospice West Parry Sound is a Visiting Hospice dedicated to maximizing the quality-of-life for all those affected by a life-limiting illness.  We strive to be leaders in the development and provision of innovating and exemplary palliative and bereavement programs and services in partnership with other community stakeholders.

Dave Garagan and Parry Sound Insurance are active supporters in the community. Parry Sound Insurance is a key sponsor of kids hockey and baseball and have sponsored too many Fall Fairs and such events to remember! Dave has been a key volunteer with the Bobby Orr Hall of Fame, serving as Chair of the Induction Committee for 7 years and volunteering at the event prior to that. He is the immediate Past Presi-dent of the Waubuno Shrine Club, a member of the Masonic Lodge, a member of the Health Centre Finance committee, President of the Parry Sound Golf and Country Club and a trainer for a house league hockey team.

Myself and the branch team are very passionate about being involved in the community and supporting as many local events and causes as possible in the Parry Sound and surrounding area, which are all very supportive of our branch. Below are some highlights of some of the community events and causes our branch has been involved in over the past year.

Walk, Run & Poll for the West Parry Sound Health Centre - Volunteers at the event, helped with registration, $5000 donation Festival of the Sound Plant Sale - Volunteers at the plant sale, $2000 donation Dunchurch Fall Fair - Volunteers attended event to help with ticket sales, Scotiabank booth, etc., $5000 donation Christmas Hampers Program - Joint effort of Salvation Army, Parry Sound Area Chamber of Commerce, No Frills and Scotiabank, $2000 donation Victory School Commemorative Book & DVD program - $1000 donation Parry Sound Novice Shamrocks - $1000 donation

Our branch also tries to help out as much as we can with donations to local area events which have included the Britt Winter Fair, Point Au Baril Canada Day Celebration coming in July, the Whitestone Rod & Gun fishing derby and the upcoming Bobby Orr Hall of Fame Celebrating Youth event.

It's an honor just to be nominated and we look forward to continued involvement in local community events.

At White Squall, we're about creating great experiences for our shoppers in the Town Shop and at our Cole Lake Paddling Centre location, as well as on our courses, lessons and trips on Georgian Bay. We also believe fully in supporting our local community by participating in all downtown events and contributing to fundraising initiatives in the region. WHITE SQUALL

Wellingtons have a fantastic menu for all ages... . including children. They get their own menu choices and coloring sheets and crayons. Plus special cups for their drinks when they are available (and they can keep them). This is an ideal place to take the entire family... from small children (who can also use the booster chairs) to grandma and grandpa. All will feel welcome and have a super time.

When special events are happening in Parry Sound, Wellingtons make sure they have advertising sheets on the table for people to read and know about. It has a bulletin board that posts events that are happening in town so you will always know what is going on in Parry Sound for special events.

Treetops Community Forest is a grass-roots community organization lead by a group of committed individuals who represent various community groups and businesses in the Area - many of which are members of the Chamber.

The Near North District School Board is a committed supporter of this project.

They have created a groundswell of community outpouring to purchase the property beside PSPS and use the forest to educate students and the community... .yay..
