In preparation for Shavuos, the Rabbi has started a class on the Halachik and pragmatic perspectives on how to improve our interpersonal relationships. He gave the first class this past Wednesday to his 9:15 am women’s class and will repeat it again this Sunday morning at 9:00 am. This class will be ongoing. Please feel free to attend. The class is also available on our website. You can find it in the carousel on the top of the home page.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE YOUR FIRST SIYUM OVER A WEEKEND ?The Shul has finalized our annual Shavuos learning program. Aside from our small group learning modules, Chavrusa learning, Ladies class & Kiddush, the rabbi is providing the opportunity for those who want to experience the sense of accomplishment of learning an entire Mesechta (Tractate) of Talmud and make a Siyum on its conclusion. If you are willing to invest only 8 hours over the long Shavuos weekend on May 19 - 21, you will be rewarded by celebrating the Siyum on Tractate Tamid at the Neilas Hachag. The rabbi will give a sample of this learning on Shabbos late afternoon before Shavuos with a class called “The Adventures of Alexander the Great.” Please contact the rabbi at [email protected] if you are interested to make sure that we provide you with a Gemara to follow along.
WESTMOUNT WELCOMES THE HOROWITZ FAMILY:We are pleased to welcome Rabbi Avinoam & Rebbetzin Shani Horowitz who will be spending Shabbos with us. Rav Avinoam is the Rosh Hayeshiva of Yeshivas Kiryat Arba. This dynamic couple have been pioneers in the resettling of the the first Jewish city in Israel - Chevron. Rabbi Horowitz will be speaking at all three services on Shabbos morning.
