We pride ourselves on working closely with our customers to understand and create customer driven solutions, at times creating tailor made luminaires when an off the shelf product just won’t do. This can range from a simple tweak, redesign or something entirely bespoke.

Each project is assessed by a dedicated team of designers with years of industry knowledge. There are multiple ways in which we communicate our design solutions to the client. Often a sketch or photo realistic render will be adequate, however more tangible solutions are available when required. 3D models can be quickly created to help prove a visual or mechanical concept. If something more representative of the final product is required, we can provide high quality 3D printing or even CNC machined prototypes.

Alphaled modules are individually measured and tuned before they are shipped. All Xicato modules are manufactured to a very tight tolerance for white light, an area that measures 1 by 2 SDCM. Most of the industry defines tolerance as within a 3-step area.

The remote phosphor is independently tuned for each module to ensure perfect colour rendering across our range. Unlike other light sources Alphaled evaluates all 15 reference samples for its Vibrant Series, Artist Series and Standard Series modules — providing a complete understanding of CRI with respect to quality of light. In the case of our Artist Series modules, the results for the deep red R9 and other samples put these modules on par with halogen lamps.

On/Off

All Alphaled products are supplied complete with an On/Off driver as standard.

DALI /DA

Standard Digital Addressable Lighting Interface allows digital dimming down to 1%. Digitally addressing each individual device, DALI provides total flexibility when controlling a lighting system. Up to 64 devices can be controlled on each channel, more can be accessed using a building management system or with additional controllers. The DALI data system requires two control cables linking each fitting.

Leading Edge & Trailing Edge - Mains Dimming /DL /DT

Luminaires are dimmed by adjusting the mains power supply, additional control cable are not required. Leading edge and trailing edge dimming work in a similar manner but deliver the power to the LED driver in slightly different ways. For new or existing installations, ensure luminaires match the existing Leading or Trailing edge dimming protocol.

DMX /DX

Digital Multiplex Signal - The DMX signal is generated by a lighting control system and requires dedicated cabling between the controller and driver. DMX is generally used with professionally designed lighting control systems.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth control offers new and flexible ways to interact with light fittings, without the need for a hardwired control system. Bluetooth lighting controls are offered in both Xicato and Casambi systems. See page 16 - 17 for further information on Bluethooth Controls.

Other control options such as Universal Voltage, DSI, Switch Dim and BIS are available on special request. Please contact our sales team for more information.

Emergency

Emergency lighting must operate automatically in all common areas and escape routes. It must provide an adequate level of illumination to enable people to see clearly enough to navigate any obstacles, changes of height and direction and ultimately find their way out of the building safely.

With the development of LED lighting, integral emergency systems provide an opportunity to incorporate lighting sympathetically to the overall lighting design. Alphaled offer a 3 hour maintained conversion pack with BLF of up to 30%. This enables Alphaled to be mounted in tall ceilings and still comply with emergency regulations.

Emergency products are supplied with remote emergency control boxes or articulated socks, small enough to be slotted through the ceiling cut outs. A remote housing for the emergency status LED will be supplied if it is not mounted directly on the luminaire.

Maintained Emergency /M3

Where the same light source is utilised in standard and emergency modes. In Standard mode the light source is powered from the switched mains supply, with mains failure it switches to emergency mode powered from its integral battery.

Self Test Emergency /ST

The self test emergency lighting system has an in-built micro processor to carry out a pre programmed testing regime independent of each other. Luminaire status and test results are provided using a bi-colour LED indicator.

DALI Emergency /DE

Fully DALI compliant this system uses the DALI data bus to monitor batteries, schedule tests and report status. Please Note: The /DE code is used to order DALI emergency option only. If a DALI controlled fitting is required use the appropriate dimming driver code.

Bluetooth Control

Bluetooth control systems are designed to reduce installation costs whilst increasing the range of control and monitoring. Bluetooth can be installed and commissioned in a fraction of the time of an equivalent DALI or 1-10v system. Without the need for control wires, control gear and hubs; Bluetooth can be deployed cheaply and without disruption. This also makes Bluetooth an ideal solution for retrofit projects, where opening up walls and ceilings for data wires is not always possible.

Fast, responsive performance and powerful features such as groups, scenes, schedules, and sensor control are all readily available and easy to integrate.

The Casambi technology provides a mesh network where all the intelligence of the system is replicated in every node and, in such a way, creates a system with no single points of failure.
