Welcome NoteWelcome to the second edition of the quarterly Partner Ecosystem publication, Partner Connect. The first thing that you will have noticed is the new name and format compared to the inaugural edition. We have also expanded circulation – internally across the regions and externally across the Partner network - to maximize awareness of the value and work done by the Partner community. As before, the content focuses on news and information relevant to the Partner Community including new initiatives and support programs available to Partners to drive technical skills and business growth and to support collaboration with Invensys and the industries we serve together. Highlights in this issueSoftware Conference – Partner Ecosystem EventsThe big event in the last half of 2013 was the North American Software Conference, held from October 15th to 17th in Dallas Texas. A record number of attendees from around the world included customers, partners, industry analysts, editors and Invensys executive, subject matter experts and support teams. All feedback shows that this was a resounding success for all who attended.

Partner RecognitionDetails around the Partner events during the Software Conference can be found in a feature article starting on page 4 including a spotlight on the Partners who received recognition for their business, product and certifications performance during 2013.

We are also continuing to highlight customer success stories. In this edition we are spotlighting two customer projects successfully delivered by Endorsed SI Partners in Germany.

Regional EventsOther highlights in this issue include an overview of Partner events across the regions during Q3 and updates on the technical and training support programs available to you as a member of the Partner community.

Promoting Ecosystem PartnersDuring 2013 we have continued to promote the value of the Partner Ecosystem internally within Invensys and externally to customers and the press. New advertising in the December special edition of Plant Engineering promotes the value of the Ecosystem by providing customers with more choice through access to solutions and technical expertise worldwide.

In early 2014, a new edition of the Customer Success brochure will be published. This will again include extensive coverage on the value of the partner constituents for customers.

For those who are eligible, the Market Development Fund (MDF) Program is still available to leverage for your go-to-market activities during the first quarter of 2014.

In ClosingWe welcome any feedback on the type of news, information and programs that you need to support your business efforts in the region, and in building the skills and expertise needed to deliver successful customer solutions to market.

Happy Selling and Enjoy! The Partner Ecosystem Team

Wonderware MES Helps the Biggest Household Appliance Manufacturer in Europe.

BÜFA REINIGUNGSSYSTEME GMBH & CO. KGG&Os’ New Batching System Improves the

Production of Chemical Cleaning and Fabric Care Agents.

ChallengesEndorsed SI Partner G&Os’ customer challenges involved the need to address multiple issues including the following:

• System modernization (network and PC components)• Fault-free system transition with no impact on production• Higher flexibility in recipe production• Replacement of existing visualization through a full-featured

HMI client

Goals• Preservation of normally high availability• Expansion of MES functionalities in interaction with Microsoft

Dynamics NAV (ERP software)• Optimization of the visualization system• New software architecture, consisting of individual MES

functions, Wonderware InBatch and Wonderware InTouch Software

ResultsA fault-free transition to a new batching and recipe management system that involves the manufacture of five hundred different products and increased visibility through the implementation of an enterprise-wide MES solution.

ChallengesEndorsed SI Partner Drucker faced key challenges in addressing the needs of the client. The system had to be open, use a scalable platform on a unified enterprise-wide, multi-language and web based system. The solution had to run on a virtual and central server environment while being fully integrated to BSH’s existing IT environment.

Goals• Create an automatic equipment and operations data collection

system that present equipment and operating data in charts, reports and dashboards

• Create a system that monitors downtime and scrap analysis and calculates Overall Equipment Effectiveness, measures variance and performance measurement (shift performance, cycle time, tooling, lost productivity data)

• Visualization of current parameters, tooling process and tooling optimization

• Enable automatic reporting and alarms via e-mail

Results• Elimination of manual annotations for OEE parameter collection

resulted in significant time saving for plant staff• Accurate and comprehensive records of plant status and events• Extensive system implementation on a global scale• Faster and easier access to parameters via BSH Intranet• Identification of improvement actions• Definition of key areas (tools, plants and processes)• Valuable tool for purchase decisions (e.g. identification of

Certification SupportCSIA Certification The Mark of Excellence!CSIA Certification demonstrates a company’s commitment to meeting the highest standards in business and management. Successful system integration businesses – the ones that clients can be confident will meet their current and future needs – combine technical proficiency with sound business practices.

Certification proves that your company has met or exceeded CSIA best practices in nine key areas:

• General Management• Human Resources• Marketing, Business Development,

Sales, and Opportunity Management• Financial Management• Project Management• Supporting Activities• System Development Lifecycle• Quality Assurance• Service and Support

Of the 300 guidelines in the CSIA Best Practices & Benchmarks manual, a company must pass 79 audit criteria to become CSIA Certified. To maintain certification, companies must successfully pass an audit every three years.

The CSIA Certified logo on your web site and proposals differentiates your firm from competitors and shows your commitment to excellence. However, the real value, according to our Certified members, is in preparing for the certification audit. Audit preparation focuses the entire team on improving practices and achieving their highest potential.

New CSIA Certification CSIA launched a new and improved Certification Management System (CMS) in September.

The new system differs significantly from the previous system used since the certification program began in 2001. This was an identified need as the association has grown internationally with an increasing number of Certified members. The new management process launched in September 2013 adds further credibility to the CSIA certification in the marketplace.

Some new CMS features include:

• Clearly defined certification eligibility requirements • Single CSIA staff contact for information and

administration throughout the Certification process• Dedicated members only section on CSIA website

provides resources to assist members seeking certification or recertification

• Improved information sharing to help members select or be matched with an auditor

• A process for selecting and training new auditors and evaluating current auditors

• Internal CMS performance audits to ensure adherence to standards

• Analysis of anonymous, compiled data from audits to be used in development of best practices

• Participant evaluation of the audit and certification process for input into continuous improvement

CSIA will charge a certification fee for each audit to help cover the cost of managing the CMS. Scheduling an audit and audit payment remains between the auditor and the member.

For more information, contact Bob Lowe at [email protected]

Further information about the CSIA Certification is available on the CSIA

Scott Kiser, Director, Invensys Partner Ecosystem, further validated the value of the CSIA Certification in an article posted on the CSIA website.

Scott noted “As a vendor we have thousands of SI firms participating in our Global Ecosystem Partner Programs.”

“I speak with our SIs on a daily basis, discussing our Ecosystem Programs, and use of our technology in client projects. In meetings with these system integrators, I’ve noticed a trend. CSIA Certified SIs tend to be very prompt and accurate when responding to information requests, completing forms, applications, etc. More importantly, they are better prepared when asked to step up to assist a customer or cooperate on a business opportunity to deliver a sophisticated solution using our products.

He added, “I believe successfully completing the CSIA audit process and becoming CSIA certified greatly benefits our system integrator partners’ business.”
