Limneo “Nong” Zamora Parish Secretary: Janet Sakowich Divine Mercy Sunday - April 3, 2016 Eastertide (Paschal tide, or Easter Season) We have recently felt the roller coaster of emoons that accompany Holy Week. We experience ancipaon and penance as we spend our 40 days in Lent. We experience the ache of sadness as we recall Christ’s suffering and death. And then we exult and exclaim with joy “Christ is Risen, Alleluia, Alleluia” as we celebrate Christ’s resurrecon and victory over sin. Our experience during the liturgies of Holy Week should bring us, each year, to a deeper understanding of Christ’s sacrifice for us. It is due to these liturgies that we are reminded why the Eucharist is the “source and summit” of our Chrisan life. These liturgies do not come together overnight, and so it’s an excellent me to spend a moment in thanksgiving for all of the hard work and preparaon that went into Holy Week. While there is literally not enough space to thank everyone personally in this reflecon, I do want to spend a moment to highlight a few persons. Thanks to Father Nong, Janet, Gerri, Claire and Frank, Mary Anne, Clem, our wonderful choirs, altar and adult servers, readers, extra-ordinary ministers of holy communion, greeters, collectors and counters, facilitators, decorators, those who had their feet washed, those who assisted with setup, the Liturgical Commiee members, and all those whose prayers and or presence made these liturgies a success. We now transion into the 50 days of the Easter season, or Easterde. The enre 50 days are celebrated as one feast day, which St. Athanasius referred to as “the Great Sunday”. While we did not have any adults receive Chrisan iniaon locally, it is sll a me for us to pray especially for all those who have been iniated into the Church around the world. It is also a me for us to focus on strengthening our community of faith. As Saint John Chrysostom stated over 1600 years ago: “Come you all: enter into the joy of your Lord. You the first and you the last, receive alike your reward, you rich and you poor, dance together; you sober and you weaklings, celebrate the day; you who have kept the fast and you who have not, rejoice today." Let us spend the next 50 days, concluding with Pentecost Sunday, rejoicing in the resurrecon of our Lord Jesus Christ. Christ is risen, Alleluia, Alleluia! Live-In…

a time to get to know Jesus A Live-In is a retreat-type experience. The ultimate purpose of the Live-In is to lead participants to a deeper personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This involves a series of presentations on the basis of Christian Life. A variety of speakers from various walks of life help to make it instructive, uplifting, and very enjoyable. You would also experience a new peace and a much deeper faith. Many have said after-wards that they have a much different outlook on their life, Spiritually, Mentally and Emotionally. Some have found a greater meaning and purpose for their life. Live-In takes place from April 15-17 in Dr. Brosseau School in Bonnyville. Participants must be at least 18 years of age to participate. Please call Dianne @ 780-826-2917 for more info. Registration forms are available at the entrance of the church. Each person requires a sponsor that has already participated in one. You may contact Janet @ 780-639-3245 or 780-594-4170 if you are need of a sponsor.
