AN INTRODUCTION TO ME

My name is Patricia Izbicki. I am seventeen years old. I am a senior in high school. I am an only child. However, I have three dogs and two ferrets to make up for it. My passions include learning about the world around me, excelling in my education, excelling in tennis, and excelling in piano.

WHAT DID I DO TO ATTAIN MY HOURS?

• First, I volunteered nine hours at The Northwest Florida Zoo. I mostly helped with the yard work needed around the zoo. In turn, I got to learn about and see many amazing and interesting animals.

Second, I volunteered at the Humane Society of Pensacola. I helped to walk the dogs. I also spent much of my time spoiling the dogs with treats and much rubbing.

• Third, I volunteered at West Florida Hospital. I assisted in the physical therapy unit of the hospital. I helped in transporting patients, filing paperwork, restocking linens, gloves, etc., communicating with the patients, and assisting the physical therapists with the patients.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED

The best way to get involved in any of these activities is to call, email or pay a visit to your local hospital, pet shelter, or zoo. Volunteers are always needed and are greatly respected and appreciated everywhere.
