Currently I am working in two positions, one is with SignLive UK Limited, and the other is with the Deaf Community and Sports SA (DCSSA). I have detailed my responsibilities with both organisations further down in this document. I have built up a wealth of knowledge in these sectors and my recent achievements include working with a start-up technology company to expand their services and to gain greater community and mainstream recognition. Prior to this, I worked at Signamic Limited in London, to expand the company’s range of services and achievements include the company winning the Centre of the Year Award twice in 2010 and 2014, with competition from 70 other training centres. In addition, I possesses the Institute of Leadership and Management Level 7 Diploma in Management, which is equivalent to an MBA. Also I possesses an Arts Degree from Flinders University, and the PTLLS teaching qualification from the UK, which is equivalent to the TAE Certificate 4 in Education and Training. I have completed most of the units towards the Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Studies. I was CEO of deafPLUS for 6 years. deafPLUS are an UK-wide charity providing a range of support services to deaf people. While there, I managed a dramatic turn-around in the charity’s fortunes, commencing with the charity’s accounts showing a deficit of $200,000, and departed when the books showed an overall financial position of $600,000.

At Signamic, took the lead in developing marketing and PR strategies and materials, and had input in development of services to meet demand. An experienced and skilled copywriter. Currently, I support DCSSA by developing a range of marketing strategies and resources and have seen the club grown considerably in reputation and attendances the past 6 months

Communication Excellent communicator, bilingual in English and Sign Language. Excellent research and report writing skills on a range of topics. Lively and inspiring public speaker. Able to communicate with a wide range of personnel, from decision makers to consumers at grass-roots level.

Policy Development An experienced policy officer, who has had input into and developed a range of policies for several organisations, including SignLive, Signamic Limited, deafPLUS, and the Deaf Society of NSW.
