Dear Adrienne Folse,

I am interested in the Graphic Design Internship at Design the Planet in New Orleans. Currently a Graphic Design student at Michigan State University, I will be graduating in May 2011. I am searching for an internship that could grow into an entry-level position.

Your company interests me because it looks like a fun, fresh, and energetic place to create exciting design work. I enjoy the work your company did with local businesses such as the History with a Twist book and the Daiquiries & Company identity system. I also admire the New Orleans culture. I took several trips to New Orleans and absolutley fell in love with the city. I want to become part of the New Orleans design com-munity. As a soon-to-be graduate, I want to take the artistic skills I gained in the classroom and bring them to real clients and organizations.

As an intern, I am eager to assist in the production of identities and print collateral. Those are my favorite aspects of graphic design. I enjoy design-ing posters, logos, letterheads, and collaging. I would describe my style as bold, simple, and clean. While I feel that print is my comfort zone, I want to further my knowledge and skill in web design. I understand how important a web presence is these days. I can edit html, but I want to learn how to design a site from scratch. I strive to become as well–rounded in graphic design as I possibly can.

Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to meeting you. If we get the opportunity to schedule an interview, my full portfolio will not disappoint. Attached is a copy of my resume and a few design sam-ples. I welcome you to view additional design case studies on my website at www.keleymcnabb.com.
