GTI Offers Flexible Options for Your TrainingScheduled Classroom Courses
Fundamentals of Baseload LNG: Markets, Technology, Economics (5 days) Knowledge of the basics of the entire LNG chain is essential for everyone working in the LNG industry — new hires or those whose experience has been in other facets of the energy industries.
Interact with a team of the world’s leading LNG experts to learn what’s new in markets, pricing, contracts, supply sources, shipping, project economics, liquefaction and regasification technologies, and more.
Learn how changing LNG compositions affect end-users, what role technical design plays in project financing, and whether offshore facilities are a viable alternative to land-based plants. Get answers to your own questions too.
Understanding LNG Terminals and Terminal Operations (4 days) Get a thorough grounding about this critical link in the LNG chain in the context of the global LNG industry. Learn from a team of the world’s leading authorities in LNG terminal construction, operations, storage, and shipping.
This is essential information for LNG plant operators and managers; professionals at companies contemplating, planning, building, or operating an LNG terminal; and government regulators responsible for siting and operating LNG terminals. But anyone — technical or non-technical — who wants to understand this link in the LNG chain will benefit.
Understanding LNG Peakshaving Plants and Operations (2 days) Learn the basic elements of planning, designing, and operating an LNG peakshaving plant. Among the topics covered are safety issues, including a review of new Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations on reporting incidents, and teambuilding and trouble-shooting exercises.
Learn how industry changes — peaking requirements and supply, gas quality, security issues — affect peakshaving plant operations.
Other courses are added to respond to industry needs and customer requests. See our course schedule at www.gastechnology.org/training.
Why GTI?A pioneer in LNG Education, GTI has offered LNG training since the industry’s inception. Teaching trainees to perform procedures is important, but insufficient. Our goal is to train them to think creatively and productively about technical issues and understand how abnormal situations develop and why procedures require specific actions.
Custom Training for Your Specific Facility and ProceduresGTI can design and develop an online or classroom course incorporating the equipment and procedures specific to your plant. We can adapt existing modules or create new ones, according to your needs.

Online/CD Self-Study Training Available Anywhere, AnytimeFor over 30 years, GTI has provided introductory and refresher training for LNG plant operations staff and others who want to become familiar with the industry’s equipment, processes, and procedures. These courses are available on CD or online for individual or company-wide training:
LNG Plant Operator TrainingTrainees who successfully complete this course earn a GTI certificate and meet U.S. government requirements for periodic operator training. This five-module course covers all the basics, from an explanation of LNG through gas processing, liquefaction, trucking, equipment, security, codes and standards, and trucking.
LNG Shipping and Cargo HandlingTrainees earn a GTI certificate for successful completion. Topics include the LNG value chain, the import terminal, ships, docking, cargo loading and unloading, maintenance and training, and security requirements.
LNG Plant SafetyTopics include safety issues related to storage and handling of LNG, hazardous situations, hazard detection and emergency response, and a typical day in the life of an LNG technician.
How an LNG Plant Operates: Import, Storage, and VaporizationImport terminal operations are explained through basic layouts, components, pressure control, second-stage pump operation, and more. The course also covers explanations of process flow diagrams and the desuperheating process.
Ready-to-Deliver Courses and Modules for Your EmployeesAny of our courses can be brought to your facility or a nearby site. GTI can provide a “train the trainer” program that enables your company’s staff to teach the course themselves—an approach that promotes interaction and teamwork. With this option, you will receive Instructor and Student Guides and PowerPoint slides. Instructor Guides include:
> Copies of each PowerPoint slide, with guidelines on when to display it and talking points
> Classroom activities and team-building exercises
> Thinking-on-your-feet exercises on responding to plant anomalies
> Exams that can be administered before, immediately after, and 3 months after the training to ensure competency
Alternatively, GTI can provide an experienced instructor to teach the course (in English or Spanish) at your facility.
