In Loving Memory of

Bobbie Guthrie Kuhn, 77 of Matteson, Illnois died Thursday January 21st, 2016. Her body was cremated. A memorial service will be announced at a later date to be held in Paris.

Born in Henry Co., Bobby Jean was the daughter of the late William Penn and Eva Bertha Guthrie. She was preceded by brother Billy Guthrie and sister Sue McLain.

She is survived by her husband John Kuhn, daughter Tammy (Pete) Lackey of Paris, son Lane Bridges of Boston, Massachusetts, grandsons William (Jer-rica) Terban of Boston, Massachusetts, and Maxwell Terban of New York City, New York, sister Dean Parker of Paris, and sister Bessie Wynn of Muskegon, Michigan.

Born April 18th, 1938 in Henry Co., Bobbie Jean was an avid gardner, winning many awards in Illinois and Massachusetts where she served as President of the Garden Club for several years. She loved her pets and loved to cook for family and friends.

She was a member of the East Wood Church of Christ.

Scalloped Potatoes original recipe makes 6 servings4 cups thinly sliced potatoes3 tablespoons butter3 tablespoons flour1 1⁄2 cups milk1 teaspoon salt1 dash cayenne pepper1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese1⁄2 cup grated cheese, to sprinkle on toppaprika In a small sauce pan, melt butter and blend in flour. Let sit for a minute. Add all of cold milk, stirring with a whisk. Season with salt and cayenne. Cook sauce on low until smooth and boiling, stirring occasionally with a whisk. Reduce heat and stir in cheese. Place a half of the sliced potatoes in a lightly greased one quart casserole dish. Pour half of cheese sauce over potatoes. Repeat with second layer of potatoes and cheese sauce. Sprinkle the remain-ing cheese on top. Top with some paprika for color. Bake uncovered for about 1 hour at 350°F.

Add taco seasoning and stir in refried beans. Mix soup and sour cream in a separate bowl.Spread 1/2 sour cream mixture in the bottom of a casserole dish.Tear up 3 tortillas and spread over sour cream mixture. Put 1/2 the meat bean mixture over that. Add a layer of cheese. You could put some hot sauce on this now. Repeat the layers.
