Eagles International Convention is
headed back to the Bluegrass State as
we return to Louisville’s Galt House
Hotel, July 6-11.

tional courses, the Grand Aerie Offic-
es and Ritual will be housed inside
the Galt House’s two buildings for the
week, making it easy for you to access
all the Convention has to offer.
Join us in July as we make our return
to Louisville and be a part of the most
incredible Fraternal Order of Eagles
week of the year.
We look forward to seeing you there!
FROM THE STATE WORTHY PRESIDENT
We are preparing for the “God, Flag, and Country” program that the Eagles do every year. The chil-dren competing fall into three groups: 10 to 11, 12
to 13, 14 to 15. We are hoping to increase our contestants for competition which we will do this May; followed up by the State Pro-gram at our State of Florida Convention, Tuesday June 11 at 1 P.M. Then on to the Eagles Grand Convention July 5 - 13. Here we will go against all of the other States that have their “God, Flag, and Country "program for the Championship. This Year the only Aerie that will compete for “God, Flag, and Country” is from Bonita Springs #4002. We must get more Aeries into this great program for next year. Talk to local School Counselors, Churches, VFW, Ameri-can Legion, Boy and Girl Scouts, Drama Teachers, Etc. This our chance to get our word out about the Eagles to the rest of our communities. Please help me to make this happen. I and the other State Officers that attended had a great time at Orlando #3496, Lakeland #4356 and Clearwater #3452. Great Anniversaries, great food and friend-ship. Then onto Kissimmee #4048, for the Famous Bowling Tournaments. Don't forget that May 18 is the “Youth Rally” at Sun West Park in Hudson. Questions call 407-994-1900. Please help O.J. and Gail Beaudoin, Chairman for this fine event.
Fraternally, Bill Lucek, State Worthy President

THE COUNTDOWN CONTINUES – as of the writing of this letter, only 46 days to go
until I can sit on my porch, drink beer, and play guitar. I would like to thank the Orlan-
do 3496 Aerie and Auxiliary for the generous donations to the charities. Your support is
amazing. I personally had a great time at your celebration amongst all the beautiful dec-
orations, the warm hospitality, and the band all dressed up in tie dye. Congratulations
on the great celebration. You guys rock! Ocala Forest was in the house and presented yet
another donation to the charities. Thank you so much for the support. Keep on rockin'! I
would like to thank the Lakeland Aerie for inviting us to help them celebrate their anni-
versary and for the generous donation to the State Auxiliary Charity. You guys not only
rock you shine. I had such a great time at your Aerie. Thank you so much. Thank you
Clearwater Aerie and Auxiliary for your generous donations to the charities, your hospi-
tality, and for inviting us to help you celebrate your anniversary. You are small but
mighty. Keep on rockin! Thank you Kissimmee Aerie and Auxiliary for hosting the state
bowling tournament. You did a fantastic job and what a great weekend. Thank you to
everyone who came out to support the function. There was a lot of laughter and not too
many gutter balls. Thank you ladies and remember Alabama Slammers are the breakfast
of champions. You know it sometimes feels like our organization is facing what seems
like insurmountable odds, but through all this we must find new ways to survive and
thrive together. We can no longer afford to sit back and wait for something extraordi-
nary to happen, we must put our imaginations to work and create our own extraordinary
results. It takes all of us. Robin Sharma thinks that “Greatness comes by doing a few
small and smart things each and every day. It comes from taking little steps, consistent-
ly. It comes from making a few small chips against everything that is ordinary, so that a
day eventually arrives when all that's left is The Extraordinary.” We must all put the ef-
fort in, forget our personal agendas, and work together to make our local aeries and aux-
iliaries an extraordinary place to be. The rest will be easy. Everybody please do some-
thing awesome today State Madam President Melanie Day
Welcome to the
last month of our
Eagle year. I
would like to start
off by thanking
everyone for all
you've done this
year. We have
had a busy year and everyone has really
stepped up. I especially want to thank every-
one who helped out at Carol Vint's benefit.
We raised over $3100. Everything ran
smoothly from dinner, to the pool tourna-
ment and I couldn't be more proud of every-
one. Thank you all!!
As we prepare to pass the reigns to
the next board of officers I would like to re-
mind each member that this is your Aerie. If
you see something that needs to be done
please step up and pitch in. Everyone has a
stake in keeping up our Aerie. It is not just
the officers responsibility to do everything.
If you see trash laying around please pick it
up. This is our home so please take care of
it. Since we are going to have a lot of new
officers please be patient as we transition
and get them trained.
And finally, May 12 is Mothers Day.
Each year we have had a brunch at the Aerie
cooked and served by the men of the Aerie.
But for the last three years we have had de-
clining numbers of members attending. So,
this year, our entertainment committee
wants to try something new. Instead of a
brunch we will be doing a dinner the night
before allowing all the mothers to spend
Mothers Day with their families however
they wish. The Eagles Past Grand Worthy
President Frank Hering was instrumental in
getting Mothers Day made into a recognized
Holiday and in 1914 President Woodrow
Wilson signed a bill making the second Sun-
day in May officially Mothers Day. Frank
Hering was declared the "Father of Mothers
Day". This is one of the biggest celebrations
on our Eagle Calendar and I encourage you
to come out and celebrate with us.
Let's keep soaring into next year.
Worthy President
Scott Burger

operations, matters of concern are handled per the Grand Aer-

ber to be aware and know what your Aerie is doing. Your Aerie
Officers and Trustees are members just like you, we have no
greater power or authority than what is stated in our Constitu-
tion & Statutes. We are here to help, however, with that being
said; we do enjoy visiting our Social Room as members, to en-
joy fellowship with our Brothers. The Social Room is not the
place to discuss matters of business, nor is social media. If
you are unable to attend a General Membership meeting and
have a matter to bring before the Aerie, please remember that
your Trustees meet every Monday at 6 p.m. and your Aerie Of-
ficers meet every Monday, prior to Thursday’s General Mem-
bership meeting at 7 p.m. These meetings are open to all members,
unless otherwise stated prior to the beginning of the meeting.
Always remember you are a Member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles
not just at the Aerie, but wherever you may go. Be proud to be an Ea-
gle and represent your Aerie. Acknowledge your Brothers, greet them
with a Hello, a handshake or as we often do here in the south a hug!
Be mindful of our motto “If I cannot speak well of an Eagle, I will
NOT speak ill of Him”. We are united fraternally in the spirit of Lib-
erty, Truth, Justice and Equality. To make human life more desirable
by lessening its ills and promoting peace, prosperity, gladness and
hope. As a reminder being a member, we have responsibilities to our
Aerie. One of those responsibilities is to see that our Aerie is properly
maintained. It is not just the responsibility of Officers and Trustees
to see that our Aerie home is kept up with. Anytime you enter your
Aerie and see anything that needs repair, please feel free to offer your
assistance. Thank you for your continued support of our Aerie.
If at any time you have questions concerning your membership, your

ue serving our Aerie & each member to the best of my ability.

This month we see the closing of the 2018 - 2019 business
year, additionally the recent officer elections has brought
about a change in officers. The Board will be welcoming three
new members and bidding fond farewell to our departing
members, we wish them all the best in everything all their en-
deavors.
Recent changes have brought about some discord in the social
room. The “Drink Chit” policy has been brought about due to
hording of them, we don’t have any more and they are too ex-
pensive to replace, ($0.49) each.
The Eagle of the Year, Eagle of the Month and Membership
challenge awards will be replaced by gift certificates useable in
the social room only, (saves chits). The Birthday Drink is con-
trolled by the social room attendant through a listing of birth-
days issued by the Aerie Secretary and / or by a drink card is-
sued by the Entertainment Committee during the Monthly
Birthday Party, the birthday listing will be the master control.
A vote was taken by the membership to retain “Members On-
ly” on the third pool table as opposed to allowing additional
leagues to utilize the table. Best Vote I have heard in years.
On a more serious note we need Three Bids for the following
major renovations:
1. Installation of a backflow preventer on our second
water meter.
e Glass Door and replacing it with blocks.
2. Removal and Replacement of the Front Door.
Additional maintenance is needed in replacing the air condi-
tioner in the kitchen.
The Board meets every Monday at 6:00 P. M. and is open to
the membership, we supervise the operation of the social
room and the general maintenance of the facility. The Aerie
must be run as a business and we are responsible to prevent
loss or misuse. We can not make changes in policy, that is the
function of the membership in the General Membership Meet-
ing on the first and third Thursdays of the month. If you wish
to change of modify the general operation, that is not in con-
flict with the laws, bring it to the Aerie Officers at the Officers
Meeting The Monday before the General Membership Meeting
to be incorporated in the General Membership meetings agen-
da.
We hope next year will be as profitable as this year we will be
soliciting for a new insurance company, maybe, if the price is
right.
Be advised the door code will be changed at close of business,
Friday, May 31, 2019 the new code will be available from the
social room attendants upon presenting your paid official re-
ceipt on Saturday, June 1, 2019.
Fraternally Yours.
