PERSONALITY OF THE TEACHER AND CLASSROOM LAYOUT
In general, all our cooperating teachers have the characteristics of a good teacher.
They are very friendly, helpful and tactful, and very interested to us. We have our
leisure moments with our co-observer. They have their own personalities and attitude.
They possess these characteristics such as pleasing personal appearance, intelligent,
flexible, sociable fairness, sense of humor, emotionally stable, have good manners and
right conduct, and many others. This characteristics help them to gain respect. A
teacher should show good attitude towards his students. His personality: He is very
positive and has the drive to teach. He is very attentive. He is very jolly, he sometimes
jokes with his students. A teacher should have good personality to gain respect. His
personal appearance: He has a pleasing personal appearance. He knew how to be
creative and resourceful. Shows good taste and neatness in clothes. He is physically
fit and has good posture. He has pleasing voice, clear and very detailed. But
sometimes he loses his voice. These are the things I’ve observed in this subject.
For Classroom Layout, we have observed different subjects and we have seen
different classroom layout such as laboratory, drafting rooms, and lecture room. For
laboratory, they have enough spaces for heavy equipment like grinding machine,
welding machine, bending machine, and other. It is properly ventilated and well lighted.
For drafting rooms, they have enough spaces for many drawing tables and it is also
properly ventilated and well lighted. For lecture rooms, they have small rooms for many
students and they don’t have enough electric fans for too many students.
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
Classroom Management is defined as the process of establishing and maintaining the
internal environment of the group and the classroom conditions for the attainment of
educational goals. It consists of all the provisions and procedures necessary to
maintain an environment in which instruction and learning can occur. Because it aims
to direct the efforts of both students and teachers at the important goals and tasks of
schooling, it enables students to spend their time on learning tasks rather than on
nonessentials.
Our cooperating teachers are good classroom manager, they planned the
activities very well, they were quite organized in terms of the materials to be used in
instruction, and they have the authority and the responsibility in the classroom. They are
overall classroom manager. They’ve encouraged neatness in the class activities,
promoted accuracy, kept everything in order and conserved time and energy. They
ensure that students know what to do and have the time and materials with which to do
it. Without it, classes are neither efficient nor not effective. Successful management is
achieved by careful planning, attention to business, explicit instructions, and thorough
follow-up.
