Welcome to

Pittsburgh Chemical Day

2017

On behalf of the Joint Chemical Group of Pittsburgh and our volunteer planning committee, we welcome you to the 50th annual Pittsburgh Chemical Day conference.

This year we are celebrating 50 years of coming together to network, learn, and grow in an ever-changing Chemical Industry. We have designed our program to highlight the past while looking towards the future markets, trends, and regulations that will impact us in the years to come.

Our goal is to utilize our new venue, Heinz Field, to help celebrate our incredible history and city, while providing you an optimal space to generate new network connections, capitalize on industry relationships, and find new opportunities.

The conference could not happen without the help of ourmany volunteers, the companies they work for and thecompanies that provided ads and sponsorship support. Please take a moment to read the list of committee members and other contributors who have worked tirelessly to make this day a success. We hope you find PCD enjoyable, informative, and valuable.

Franco HarrisFormer Steelers Running Back

Phil VillapianoFormer Raiders Linebacker/WIN

Phil Villapiano was AFC Defensive Rookie of the Year

in 1971, All-NFL in 1975 and 1976, and All-AFC from

1972-1976. Phil also played in four Pro Bowls and

was a member of the Oakland Raiders Super Bowl XI

winning team. One of the fastest linebackers of his era,

Phil specialized in making big plays - none bigger than his momentum

changing goal-line tackle against the Minnesota Vikings in Super Bowl

XI, where he forced the fumble that was recovered by Willie Hall.

Phil has been in the International Logistics business for more than

thirty years, starting during off seasons while playing with the

Raiders. Currently, Phil provides logistics solutions for domestic and

international companies as Vice President of Sales for Odyssey

Logistics & Technology, a global logistics leader, based in Danbury,

Connecticut.

Franco Harris began his pro football career as the

Pittsburgh Steelers’ No.1 pick and the 13th player

selected in the 1972 NFL Draft. For 12 seasons,

the 6-2, 230-pounder from Penn State was a big-

yardage running back, a key man in the powerful

Pittsburgh offensive machine, which also included an outstanding

passing attack.

Harris established himself as a future superstar when he became only

the fourth rookie in NFL annals to rush for 1,000 yards. He gained

additional attention by being on the receiving end of the famous

“Immaculate Reception” pass from Terry Bradshaw that gave the

Steelers their first-ever playoff win, a 13-7 victory over the Oakland

Raiders. In his 13 seasons, Harris rushed 2,949 times for 12,120 yards

and 91 touchdowns.
