Physical Properties Any characteristic of a material that can be
observed or measured with out changing the composition of that substance.
Physical Change Changes that occur when some of the
properties of a material change, but the substances in the material remain the same.
Direct Separation Separation based on large physical
properties like size, shape, color, magnetism, and density.
Distillation
The process that separates substances in a mixture (solution) using their BOILING POINTS and allows you to collect BOTH substances.
Chemical Properties The way a substance reacts with other
substances to form new substances with different properties.
Reactivity
The property that describes how easily a substance combines chemically with other substances.
