DAL AGOR PINZ²YL STOET
Stephanus Potgieter se gesin is woonagtig te Moreletapark, Pretoria en hy woon en werk in Abu Dhabi, Verenigde Arabiese Emirate (VAE). Sy liefde vir beeste het kleintyd ontstaan toe sy oupa vir hom ‘n Jersey melkkoei gegee het, wat hy self op hulle kleinhoewe versorg en gemelk het vir huishoudelike gebruik. Die kalfies wat vanaf die buurman se bul verkry is, het hy destyds vir sakgeld verkoop. Met die skuif stad toe moes hy die boerdery totniet maak en dit was maar nog altyd ‘n hunkering by hom, om weer eendag beeste te besit.
Q: Waar kom die naam van jul stoet vandaan?
A: Dal Agor is soos mens vind in Jesaja 65:10 – “… en die Dal Agor ‘n lêplek vir beeste, vir my volk wat My gesoek het” – hierdie kudde is aan ons hemelse Vader opgedra en ons is net hulle rentmeesters. Q: Hoekom PinZ²yl?
A: Ons was op besoek by ZZ2 waar Org Ehlers ons die tamaties en ander ZZ2 boerderye gewys het. Ek het eensklaps verlief geraak op hierdie reuse Nguni’s en toe ek meer tewete kom van hulle teeldoelwitte en die bestaan van die studiegroepe, het die gogga gebyt.

VISITS
Tsakani Maluleke from NTOMBANI PINZ²YL STUD, came all the way to Mooketsi
from Weltevredenpark, Roodepoort to view her cattle on the 12th of March 2015.
As well as Mankuba Ramalepe from MADUMETJA
PINZ²YL STUD, who also came to see how good their
cattle are doing in Mooketsi on the 2nd of March 2015.
We hope they enjoyed their day and are pleased with their cattle’s wellbeing.

ook kom kuier en ons het die geleentheid gebruik om bietjie te
gesels. Hulle is baie gelukkig met hul kudde se kondusie.
Hulle het destyds met die aankoop van hul kudde op die
PinZ²yl – ras besluit as gevolg van die beesras se gehardheid
en vrugbaarheid van die kwaliteit beeste en ook die sukses
wat die boere, wat met die PinZ²yl ras boer, bereik.
Petunia Sebone, an Attorney, from the MABJANA PINZGAUER STUD made her
visit on the 24th of February 2015. She was very pleased with Albert Nöffke who
explained how cattle breeding worked, now she understands how it works and
feel more up to date with their Stud, normally her husband is coming to ZZ2 cattle
division.
NEW NEWS / NUWE NUUS
Roland Bosse, Burkhard Behr and Johan Bosse from the newly
established CHAROSWAL PINZ²YL STUD. We want to congratulate
them with their new ownership of 15 breeding heifers. They all
decided, because they don’t have any more kids in the house that
this animals are going to be like their new “kids” and they also used a
combination names of their children for the stud name.
Congratulations we hope they will always make you proud.
NEW MEMBERS / NUWE LEDE
We would like to welcome a new member to
the Society, Brain Chivere. He did a thesis on
a business plan of his studies of the PinZ²yl
breed in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. He and his
father are starting a PinZ²yl project just outside
Bulawayo on a section of Matopos Research
Station. They will be buying some Nguni
female from the Metopos Research Station
and a Pinzgauer bull from ZZ2. We wish you
luck in your project being the first breeder of
PinZ²yl in Zimbabwe, this could open the way
for more breeders to join.
NUWE AANSTELLINGS
Dirk Potgieter en sy vrou, Sonja en hul kinders
Christo, Annieka en Adriaan is van Bloemfontein.
Hy is aangestel as die nuwe Bestuurder van
die PinZ²yl Stoete hier by ZZ2 Veeboerdery,
Mooketsi op die 1ste Desember 2014. Sonja
is die nuwe Skakelbeampte van die Pinzgauer
en PinZ²yl Beestelersgenootskap. Baie geluk
en mag julle baie gelukkig wees in Mooketsi.

INSPEKSIES / INSPECTIONS
REPORT ON INSPECTION VISITS 2015
The inspections of 2014 were carried out by Francois de Chalain and Albert Nöffke from 9th to 26th of March 2015. In
total 40 Breeders with 541 cattle were inspected at 13 different farms, with a total of 7600km being covered in the
process. A very big thank you to ZZ2 who sponsored the entire trip.
The inspections were completed over 9 days, so huge pressure to get them done. A very big thank you to all the farmers
who assisted with preparing the cattle and paperwork for the inspections. A very special thank you to Willie Boonzaaier
who, even though he was not able to be at the inspection, still ensured that everything was in place with the inspectors
well before they left for his farm. He also called Francois from Namibia to ensure all was well
On the negative we would like to hi-light some of the problems that were encountered during Inspections that can be
rectified with a small amount of attention to detail. We are stud breeders so should not be a problem.
A copy of the inspection list from Logix at Stud Book with all the details of your cattle is a must. Also have a copy
of your latest per capita list for reference.
Ensure that ALL cattle are branded and that the tag number and brand number match and that it matches that
in the per capita list.
ALL cattle MUST be dehorned ( Except Ngunis for First Acceptance inspection)
Ensure all cattle are in the kraal and sorted in sex and age groups beforehand in a good kraal and remember the
inspector needs to see each animal walking during the inspection on their own and not in a big group, maximum
5 at a time.
Please do your own screening beforehand and don’t use the Inspector to select for you. Rather only show him
animals you want to keep for breeding.

VERMAAK / ENTERTAINMENT
Albert Nöffke het bietjie sout in die Cheetahs ondersteuners
by ZZ2 Veeboere se wonde kom smeer toe hy met sy Blou
Bul trui, die Maandag na die sege van die Blou Bulle
teenoor die Cheetahs, by die kantoor opgedaag het! Dit het
nou glad nie met die getroue Cheetah ondersteuners
gedeug nie!!! Die shark ondersteuners was ook aan die
Cheetahs se kant. In elk geval, baie geluk Albert & jou Blou
Bul span.
