Big, High-pricedLook at this picture. What is this? This is an Urgency. Lets go to the origin of the term. The term urgency comes from Latin urgere meaning to press to drive. If there's an urgency to a situation, it's a pressing issue and you must respond quickly. This is particularly true in medical field. Seconds (delay) can be fatal for this guy. Today the mortality rate of acute cases is of 35% and in the last 10 years in developed countries the numbers of urgencies doubled. For fast clinical interventions fast laboratory results would be expected. Unfortunately, today laboratory tests are done by using big and expensive instrumentation only used by trained staff remote from the patient. And it takes too long for the doctor before receiving the results regarding the vital parameters about the patient. As a consequence the patient may die. The solution is UrgSens. UrgSens is a smart sensor very small and cheap, easy to use that can monitor in real time the level of multiple vital items like glucose lactate and ions. We already have a patent on this technology.2Our solutionAccurate Continuous Data Transmission

BloodBloodBlood

In the hospital but also already in an ambulance UrgSens can be easily put in direct contact with the blood (blad) of the patient for an accurate and continuous data trasmission from the blood to the doctor resulting in a fast diagnosis and consequent terapy.3PartnersMonitoring system integrationJuly 2014 - December 2015January 2016PrototypingValidationMarket

Road MapThe project has successfully developed an interaction with one major industrial partner (Menarini Diagnostics). Menarini is highly interested under the framework of its implantable-IRONIC project for a technology transfer aiming at the continuous monitoring of critical patients in intensive care units (ICU).

We are not able to build and commercialize the whole project. We intend to rely on a collaboration with Menarini diagnostics, which is famous, for example for the tiny glucose sensors. As they are well known in the market, this will lead to faster access and entry to the market. 4Thank you!!!Contact usIrene Taurino PhD student [email protected]

UrgSensOur purpose, their recoverySo, to conclude, Urgsens respond to a crucial need: real time monitoring of vital elements any where. It can save thousands of lives, prevent deaths due to late therapeutic interventions. This is a powerful, world-changing invention. And I'd like to thank Nanotera organizers for this opportunity to unveil this technology to you, and soon the world. Thank you.5
