CLSS

Closed-centerLoad Sensing System

Fixed amount of oil issupplied from the gearpump and excess oil isreturned to the hydraulicoil tank. This resulted inincreased engine load.

Previous hydraulic system

The sealed wet disc brakes can withstand about10,000* hours operation without maintenance andeliminating frequent brake shoes replacements. The engine oil replacement interval has been extendedto 300 hours, which reduces oil costs. The reducedmaintenance costs and significant fuel saving providea total operating cost reduction of about 14% overeight years of usage.

A COOLING SYSTEM TO ACHIEVEINCREASED BRAKING STABILITY.

A CUSHION VALVE IMPROVESTHE BRAKE FEELINGKomatsu's unique cushion valve enables a controlledbraking force that precisely reflects the pressure onthe brake pedal. The braking behavior is thus improved.

Steady breaking is always achieved. Overheating of the brakes is prevented. Rough stopping is prevented when braking. Downtime and maintenance costs are reduced.

FIRST-CLASS PRODUCTIVITY IS ACHIEVED

The diesel models adopt a compact 3.3-liter enginewith the advanced CLSS hydraulic system to achievehigh productivity and a first class cycle time. Thegasoline engine model also achieves a superior cycle.
