Widely considered a sci-fi classic, Franklin J Schaffner’s Planet of the Apes is brought vividly to the concert stage with live orchestral accompaniment of Jerry Goldsmith’s Oscar®-nominated score.

Planet of the Apes, a film whose social subtexts seem as relevant now as ever, stars Charlton Heston as an astronaut who crash-lands on an unknown planet where apes rule and humans are enslaved. Roddy McDowall and Kim Hunter co-star as the hyper-intelligent apes, whose simian appearance is brought to life by the Oscar®-winning make-up artist John Chambers.

Following the successful presentation at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in August 2015, this production is now available for presentation elsewhere.
