• The stratum basal layer is the layer most affected but also the first layer of the epidermis.

Signs/Symptoms

• Red patches of skin covered with silvery scales• Small scaling spots (common in children.)• Dry, cracked skin that may bleed.• Itching, burning, or soreness.• Thickened, pitted or ridged skin.• Swollen and stiff joints.

Cause(s)

• When the immune system mistakes a normal skin cell for a pathogen and sends out faulty signals that causes overproduction of new skin cells.

• Someone in your family also had it.

Cure

• There is no cure as of yet for Psoriasis. Though there is medication you can take such as enbral and Humira.

Worst case scenario

• If left untreated you could potentially get a life threatening disease. Also your life would become very uncomfortable. You may also have severe Psoriasis which covers more than 10% of the body.
