Expectations for General Conduct Off Field

around you. Guilty and guilty by association are the same thing.

• IN CLASS – Respectful, Alert, Participatory– Eligibility and Grades

• SCHOOL – Present AND On Time Everyday• OUT of SCHOOL – Nothing different than

everything above. There is no separation.

General Conduct off the Field

• Twitter, Facebook, etc.Twitter – Top Athlete Mistakes

GETTING ON TWITTER BEFORE GETTING EDUCATEDFORGETTING THEIR AUDIENCEUSE PROFANITY OR DISCUSS R RATED SUBJECTSGETTING BAITED VENTING FRUSTRATION OR ANGERNOT BEING DISCREET WHEN IT COMES TO OTHER PEOPLEBELIEVING THAT DIRECT MESSAGES WILL REMAIN PRIVATE

All of this stuff is nothing but a distraction from your purpose.

Page 8: PLAYER and PARENT MEETING OCTOBER 24, 2012

• Facebook - It is very simple.

If it is a picture you would not hang on your Grandmom’s refrigerator, do not put it on

facebook, twitter, instagram, etc.

• Questions we will not answer: • Why isn’t my son playing?• Why is player X playing?• Why is your lineup that way?

Questions we will be happy to answer:• What skills does my son need to work on, and how can he focus on them?• What can we do about getting the college process started?• How can we get involved in fundraising or supporting the team off

the field?

The Multi-Sport Athlete

• Do we like it? Yes.• Is it for everyone? No.• Questions to Consider?– Do I make adjustments easily from sport to sport?– Am I able to make significant progress from year

to year in each sport?– Can my body handle the demand?– Am I able to keep my grades in check?
