8.7 Coaches, Managers and Player Team Selections
The Age Group Managers are responsible for keeping records, managing logistical
requirements, disseminating information through to Players and Parents, and attending to
any Player problems that may arise during the final IPT period.
The Coaches are responsible for preparing the Players / Teams for participation in the IPT.
Training Squads will train consistently each week in preparation for the IPT. Once the Final
IPT Teams have been announced in October, Players will in all likelihood train 3 or more
times per week in this regard, and it is therefore requested that Players (and Parents) fully
commit to these requirements. We understand that at times the requirements may appear
daunting, but our Teams need to be well prepared as they go into the IPT “to make battle
with the strongest possible opposition the country has to offer”. The honour of representing
“ones province” at this high level is hopefully recognised by both Players and Parents alike.
Players are required to contribute a Fee of R600 towards the IPT Training Sessions (i.e. in
respect of venue, coaching, other costs, etc.
In terms of Schools’ Water Polo South Africa Policy, all provinces are required to include a
stipulated number of “qualifying players of colour” (“QPC”) in Team selections.
NB* Please note that all Final GSWP Player and Team selections need to be approved by
the GSWP Executive Committee, to ensure that the integrity of selections are maintained at
all times.
All selections will be made in terms of the GSWP selection policy guidelines.
Final GSWP IPT Squad / Team Announcements will be made during October 2016.
NB* GSWP reserves the right at any time to exclude any Player, Coach and/or Manager from
any GSWP Team as it deems appropriate, without having to provide justification therefore.

8.8 Player IPT Tour Cost
It is anticipated that once all confirmations have been finalised, the 2016 IPT Cost, excluding
apparel and spending (pocket) money, will be in the region of R8,000 (eight-thousand rand)
per player. Please therefore Budget accordingly!
It is expected that by latest mid-November, the actual Final IPT cost will have been finalised
and communicated to those players who have been selected to represent GSWP at the IPT.
An indicative break-down of the actual Final IPT cost will be provided to Players (Parents) at
that point in time.
NB* ALL Players were required to pay a R5,000 (five-thousand Rand) IPT Deposit to GSWP
by Wednesday, 7 September 2016. Players not having made the deposit will
unfortunately not be considered for the Final GSWP IPT Teams which are to be
announced in October 2016.
The IPT Tour Cost does not include any required GSWP Apparel or any individual tour
spending money.
9. Sponsorship
GSWP is looking for Sponsors who will invest in the province, so GSWP can tackle various
projects that have been identified as critical, such as inter alia:
Player Development (including Previously Disadvantaged Players (“PDPs”))
Coaching Development and Remuneration
Referees Development
Player Support (e.g. supply of official apparel, provision of transportation, etc.)
Reduction and/or Subsidisation of IPT Costs, etc.
Supply of Training Equipment
Facilitation of Training Facilities
Facilitation of Training Clinics
Facilitation of Tournaments
Assistance in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Please feel free to contact GSWP
directly for further information if you are in a position to assist in this regard.

of the GSWP Age Groups or Teams are welcome to do so. NB* Any
Donations / Sponsorships offered in this regard are however subject to final GSWP
Committee approval.
10. GSWP Governance
