St. George’s Day Celebrations EASTER BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY 21st APRIL 2014

Pinner High St Schedule of Events

1:00 o’clock St, George , astride the stallion Gusar, leads the Mayoral car from the bottom of the High Street. The POLICE CADETS & DISTRICT SCOUTS will march up the High Street behind the Mayoral Car. The MAYOR, MAYORESS & ALDERMAN OF HAR-ROW will alight by the Church.

1:10 pm The DISTRICT SCOUTS will renew their Promises in front of The Mayor, Alderman, Scout District Commissioner and Pinner Rotary President in the street by the War Memorial.

1:20 – 2:00 Bell Ringing - Visit the CAMPANOLOGISTS inside our 1321 Parish Church. There will be an opportunity to climb up into the Ringing Chamber and see a demonstration of bell-ringing

2 p.m. – 2:25 PUNCH AND JUDY SHOW on CHURCH FARM GREEN, opposite the Church.

2 p.m. – 2:25 MERRYDOWN MORRIS DANCERS outside the QUEEN’S HEAD

2:25 – 3:25 GEMMA TURNER singing popular and well-known ENGLISH songs by the War Memorial. Listen to her amazing voice, and even sing-along with her, and maybe dance in the street!

Ye Olde Wheelbarrow Race 3:30 – 3:50 p.m. This race was first run here in 1963 - 51 years ago!

Starts at 3:30 at Little Common (just up from Pinner Police Station), calling at 6 stops in Pinner. Route is: From Little Common (1) to The Oddfellows (2). Cross Bridge St all the way down to Chapel Lane. Cross over to the little green patch (3); then to the High St and the Victory (aka Zizzi) (4); then to the Queens Head (5) and around the war memo-rial to the end at Church Farm Gree(6) at the top of Pinner High Street.

4:00—4:25 PUNCH AND JUDY SHOW on CHURCH FARM GREEN opposite the Church.

4:00 - 4:25 MERRYDOWN MORRIS DANCERS outside QUEEN’S HEAD

Closing Ceremony Presentation of Prizes by the President of the Rotary Club of Pinner

4:30 p.m. PARADE OF ANY DRAGONS remaining un-slain by St. George , and the best three will be awarded a prize of £10 each!

(Any youngster up to the age of 11 can come along dressed as a Dragon, and those wishing to be judged should assemble by War Memorial by 4:30)

The prize to the winning Wheelbarrow race team will then be made.
