The invita*on, “Follow me.”
People: We know this is a simple call, but it is also hard;
Leader: Because following You requires leaving what is familiar.
People: And we are hesitant,
Leader: As we look around for signs of where to step next.
People: Renew our courage, we pray, and equip us for the journey.
Leader: Loosen our grip on the past and liven our feet,
So we might be prepared for the pilgrimage ahead.
All: All this we pray in the name of the one we follow, Jesus Christ.
*GLORIA PATRI #558

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

OFFERTORY ANTHEM “Pilgrims’ Hymn” Chancel Choir
by Stephen Paulus
Even before we call on Your name To ask You, O God,
When we seek for the words to glorify You, You hear our prayer;
Unceasing love, O unceasing love, Surpassing all we know.
Glory to the Father, And to the Son, And to the Holy Spirit.
Even with the darkness sealing us in, We breathe Your name,
And through all the days that follow so fast, We trust in You;
Endless Your grace, O endless Your grace, Beyond all mortal dream.
Both now and for ever, And unto ages and ages, Amen.
