FFFFriday morning 5 30 am, up early Bike all packed & fuelled, on the road 6 30

to meet with Rick Crombie, Roy, Bid Heath Truro clan & PMCC. Quick yap

at the Port before Boarding to Roscoff and on to Quiberon. I know I’ve spot-

ted the mistake, i never have a quick yap, any way moving on, arrive at

Roscoff, set sat–nav for Quiberon, no French maps on GPS, Roy Heath to the

front with French maps to lead the way, we cruised into Quiberon a few hours

later, passed the site and on to our Hotels, Of course, no camping for us, Do

you think we are Hard Bikers or something?

Weather was fair but still nippy cruising at 70 +, straight into are Hotels, meet

up with Pete Batten. Quick shower, bit of slap on, out the door for a meal ect;

we took on a few Pimms, cracking night, good grub, very good company all

agreed great evening.

Up early Saturday morning, shower, Breakfast, then on the bikes to join the

early crew, Ken Bush, Kev Freer, Trevor Pridham, Dennis Secker, Titch

Taylor and yyess Neil Liggitwood and a few of their companions that travelled

with them. We were once again warmly greeted on site by “yannick” all the

French brothers made us welcome.

We caught up with the Wednesday night travellers, ard campers, “Respect”

they said that Thursday was a minger weather wise, blowing a gale and

raining buckets, all the worse weather for campers. Ho did i not tell you they

ALL looked as rough as SHIT, ha ha yes you all guessed, far too many Pimms.

We spent most of the day with them, took in the atmosphere, to many photo’s

probably taken by all. Saturday night repeat of Friday night with much less

Pimms. Pack up in the morning after breakfast, set sat-navs for Roscoff town,

Lunch and ice cream, quick Perouse around the town, and then on into the

docks for home.

We met up with the early crew on board and bantered about the wk end, no,

not many Pimms, most seemed to agree it’s great planning and going away

but it is nice coming home.

A big thanks to the Hangars crew for their hospitality once again.

Roy & Pat Pike.

Marshalls are needed for the Plymouth Bikenights, if you can put in just a couple of hours to

help out that would be great.

It’s a very rewarding job in the sense that it helps the charities and if you are of the more

“tender age group” it helps you to keep fit as well, better than sat in front of the telly all night.

Why not give Pete a ring, you can get him on 07501339103

Jill goes to Australia

Letter from Australia.

Dear mum.

I got on the coach ok, and the trip up to London was very easy, just sat back and let the driver

do all the work. Got to Heathrow about 1.00pm and found where I had to book in for the

flight.

Checked in no problem, got rid of the heavy suitcase, and then realised I forgot to put in my

coat!! so yes I had to lug that around with me for the rest of the trip. Found a seat and sat down

to eat the sarnies you packed for me. They went down well, and after a while I thought I would

go to security and get into the departure lounge.

Looked around at all of the duty free watches, booze and handbags, which were way out of my

price range!! and waited to see what gate I was flying from, up came the gate no, and yes it

was miles away so I made my way to it.

Finally got on the plane, it was huge, flight over was long and tiring got to Townsville on

Sunday morning after two days of non stop travelling. Oliver, Nikki and William were here

waiting for me, oh it was so good to see them after such a long journey.

We got in the car and they took me for a drive around Townsville for a bit, then home for a

nice cup of tea and a much needed shower.

What I noticed straight away is the heat, I got here and it was 33 degrees, it hasn’t let up all

week, so I don’t think you would like it much. Too hot for you. Thank god for Air condition-

ing!!!!

We have been swimming, went to a place near a river, and there were speed boats going up

and down with those donut things on the back with people in having a great time. I have

attached a photo and of course I wore my Megaride T-Shirt to promote the ride down under!!!!

I don’t think any of them will be coming to the next one though!!!!

we have been out for a few meals and doing some sightseeing as you do, went to Magnetic

Island yesterday, oh that was really beautiful, a tropical Island just off the coast of Townsville.

We went to a place called “Bungalow Bay Koala Village” where there were lots of different

animals to hold, like snakes, lizards and of course the obligatory Koala, the one I held was

called “Pebbles” Spent the rest of the day exploring the island then home on the ferry to

Townsville.

I hope you are all ok at home and not missing me too much!!!! will write again soon, and give

you the next instalment of “Townsville”

Take care. All my love

Jill

EDITOR NOTE For the seventeen months I have been doing the editors job for the club, this is the first time I have been compelled to write something myself. In this edition of the club news letter three people, Roy & Pat and Jill have taken the time and effort to write a bit about their exploits for you. By now you would have read their articles, if you have not, then I respectfully suggest you do so, because both are first class articles and well worth reading. I know your thinking what’s he getting at? I love doing the news letter every month and I will hopefully continue to do so for a while yet, but this is your news letter not mine, I just put it together. Why not have a go yourself? you will find it very rewarding, if you feel you don’t want to write it, if you give me all the details I will do it for you, or if you would like to do it yourself but need help or advice I am here to help. A big thank you to Roy, Pat and Jill for their time and effort in putting their articles together.
