Our thoughts go out to Desley and her family during this difficult time. As normal this month along with the regular group meetings Club members attended 3 Theatre performances these being The Merry Widow at the Opera House, The Two of Us and Book of Mormon and a Visit to the Darlinghurst Gaol. I am glad to add none of the attendees were detained. At this month’s meeting the members are going to vote whether the club members decide to introduce Internet banking facilities or not. After last month’s address there appeared to be some confusion with regards to the proposed changes to the Constitution. The only changes proposed are to item 8 e. by adding 5 extra words to include the introduction of Internet Banking. This will allow the club to access Internet banking as well as using the existing Cheque method. The changes to 8e. are: after the word Cheques add: and Internet transactions and after the words signed add: or approved. It should be noted that no other changes are being proposed. To achieve this the club will hold 3 votes to have these approved by 75% of today’s attending members. VOTE 1. A Motion/Special Resolution required by Fair Trading. The motion to be put is: The Forresters Beach Probus Club agrees to alter Clause 8 Sub Clause e. to include Internet Banking as another method of carrying out banking transactions for the club. VOTE 2. Clause 8 Sub Clause e. of the Constitution shall read: e. Cheques and Internet transactions in payment of accounts shall be signed or approved by authorised signatories who shall be any two of the following, President, Senior Vice President, Junior Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer or one Program Manager. VOTE 3. The Bank requires that the Club approves and minutes the following. Forresters Beach Probus Club agrees that the following members - Clyde Wyborn, Lynn Butler, Carolyn Butler, Colin Pratt and Tom Wallace have been authorised for Internet banking access with any two to sign. When all three votes are approved the Committee has to apply to Fair Trading by filling out Form 6A and paying a $50 fee. After we receive written confirmation from Fair Trading then all documents are to be forwarded to PSPL for ratification. After PSPL ratifies the changes the authorized persons need to apply to the bank to be given access along with an ID number and a password. As you can see the Club has a few hurdles to go through before access to Internet Banking is achieved. From President Clyde Wyborn It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Foundation Member Don Francis on May 12th, after a short illness. Don, and his wife Desley, were the inaugural Attendance Register Supervisors and Golf Coordinators for our Club. On behalf of all Forresters Beach Probus Members we extend our deepest sympathy to Desley, Glenn, Kerri and all the family. Sonia Fletcher’s rather unusual reaction to winning the lucky draw prize.

Good morning all. On a sad note the club lost one of its longstanding members with the passing of Don Francis and it was nice to see the large contingent of members attending his funeral. Our thoughts go out to Desley and her family during this difficult time. Wendy COAST BOWLS FRIDAY 11TH MAY

The “ autumn summer “ came to a sudden end on the morning of our May bowls so most players were rugged up against the cold and blustery wind which made for challenging conditions. With 14 players two games of pairs and a game of triples was organised. The results were as follows; a women’s’ game , Sonia F. & Bev. B. won against Pippa B. & Kay H. 15/13; Phil. C. & Mike L. won against Mike L. & Tom W. 21/8. ; Rawson B. Stuart S. & John K. won against Ralph O. Lou B. & Ron H. 27/14. If you are interested in having a game of Bowls this Fri. 15th June, please place your name on the list on the Notice Board. For newcomers, an explanation of the game can be given and bowls are available from the Bowls Office at the Bateau Bay Bowling Club. New players would be very welcome.

THEATRE PROGRAMME.

Sixteen players enjoyed the fine autumn weather at our May 23rd Golf Game.

The Ladies Winner was Annia Betenson with 23 points, second was Rita Carlsen and third was Dee Dimond. Annia won the nearest the pin.

The Men’s Winner was Brian Hughes with 24 points, second was Kevin Brennan and third was Ralph Olsen. Geoff Barwick won the nearest the pin. Our next game is on the 27th June

The evenings grow colder earlier with a chill in the air from 3ish now just as our faithful players arrive to spend two hours of fun and laughs. First we had the vivacious Vivki a few months ago saying her new name helps with her game and this month we had the electric Eoni, and electric Eoni managed 2 strikes in a row so thanked her name too. Want to use it again Toni B? Ralph was King of the strike with 4. Bev was the Queen of the strike with 3. Graham was top gent of the spares with 5 Sheenagh and Pat de la Haye were both top lady with 3 each. With a few away or otherwise indisposed we still had a good number of 19. Bard was feeling a little better this month and showed his pride with his actions with a fine strut whilst Pippa and Ralph spun their magic with the fine curve and backward spin too. Game 1 Ladies : Vicki 115, Joan 108, Bev 97. Gents : Ralph 124, Graham 121, Rawson 104 Game 2: Ladies: Toni 112, Carolyn H. 101, Sheenagh & Bev 98 Gents: Steve 116, Geoff 110, Bard 105 Overall: Ladies: Vicki 204, Bev 195, Toni 191. Gents: Steve 223, Graham 219, Rawson 207 Thanks everyone for joining our fun. Dinner afterwards at Tigers Next game: 21st June Bateau Bay Bowl. NAMES ON LIST’’ Would members please remember when they have put their name on a list to join in an event that they must remove their name if they find they cannot attend, as well as letting the relevant convenor know. Our convenors work hard to make our trips etc. as enjoyable as possible and it only makes their job much harder if they have worked out a costing based on the number on their list only to find that a good number have changed their minds or are unable to join in. It is also embarrassing for convenors who have booked lunches when the numbers are suddenly reduce by 50%. without any notification. Thank-you

CANCELLATION POLICY If a Member cancels a booking before the final payment

date, every effort will be made to obtain a refund from

the supplier, but this may not always be possible. After

the final booking date, refunds are not guaranteed.

Usually suppliers demand full payment if cancellations are

made after the final payment date. This can be within

28 days of the activity or at a time specified by the

supplier as the final payment date. In these cases, Club

organisers will endeavour to persuade the supplier to

waive the charges, but this is not guaranteed and the

Member may still be liable to make the full payment.

Where possible a date after which no refunds are

available will be advertised. Booking cancellations must

be made by Email to the convenor organising the event.
