Linked Data and the Seman-tic Web have been devel-oped for more than 15 years by a dynamic and growing community of experts. Over the years companies like Google, Best Buy, Daimler or organisations like the World Bank or REEEP have started to adapt those technologies. Linked Data can be used for internal data integration and for efficient distribution of information on the WWW. Linked Data makes use of graph-based data models. Like any other network, your data infra-structure can grow to your needs and can dynamically develop like your business does. With Linked Data there is a more flexible and agile method in place which reflects all the dynamics we have to deal with in our days.

PoolParty platform consists of several mod-ules which can serve as stand-alone compo-nents as well as a software suite as a whole. Each component provides a comprehensive API and all knowledge graphs stored in Pool-Party can be accessed via Semantic Web Standards.

PoolParty Thesaurus Server (PPT) is one of the

most advanced vocabulary servers on the market

which also provides functionalities based on

linked data technologies. PPT works seamlessly

with PoolParty Extractor (PPX) which can be

integrated as a powerful entity extractor and text

mining service. On top of those two fundamental

semantic services, modules like PoolParty Search

Server (PPS) or PoolParty Powertagging (PPP)

can be used to realise smart end-user applica-

tions.

Requirements to text mining services provided by

PPX are typically: scalable, highly performant and

robust which can be realized on top of our

clustered versions of PoolParty Extractor.

PoolParty Semantic Integrator (PPI) is a bundle of

technologies serving as a holistic solution for

linked data & big data management in enterprises

as well as for the WWW. In addition to capabilities

provided by PPT, PPX and PPS, facilities for

linked data alignment, massive linked data

storage (on top of Virtuoso) and linked data based

search are offered by PPI.

PoolParty Thesaurus Server is not only a

‘taxonomy editor’ in the traditional sense, but

also a tool which helps to use, manage and

publish linked data and large enterprise

knowledge graphs. Your taxonomies and

thesauri become better and more easily

accessible and will be more often reused.

PoolParty technologies are mainly based on Java. PoolParty can be run on 64bit Linux or 64bit Windows

On the server side we recommend a minimum of 2 GB RAM dedicated to Apache Tomcat (4 GB are recommended) per service (PPT, PPX, PPS).

There are options to cluster PoolParty services. No additional database has to be installed. On client side there is only a browser needed to maintain PoolParty thesauri.
