Honeywell POS4NET Suite Getting Started
Installing Honeywell POS4NET Suite
Double-click the Honeywell POS4NET Suite.exe file to install the Honeywell POS4NET Suite software. Follow the instructions presented on the screen.
Note: When first installing the Honeywell USB serial communications driver please reboot the terminal after installation is complete prior to running the POS4NET application.
Configuration Utility
The Configuration Utility allows you to assign a name to a Honeywell device and creates a XML entry for that device. The name is later used by the service object to work with the device. This utility is also used to edit or delete these XML entries.
Validation Utility
The Validation Utility verifies the connection and allows you to work with the connected device. An Advanced view allows you to use all POS4NET operations.
Release Notes
The release notes provide known issues and revision information regarding the software components.
Custom Setup
Custom Setup allows you to select specific components to install. Click the drop-down arrow to select the feature you wish to work with.
To install the feature, sele ct either This feature will be installed on local hard drive or This feature, and all sub featur es, will be installed on local hard drive. Both actions are the same.
Select This feature will not be available if you do not wish to install that component. Getting Started, Rev B - 1 -
Repair, Modify, or Remove (Uninstall Honeywell POS4NET Suite)
To repair, modify or remove click Start -Programs -Honeywell POS4NET Suite and click Uninstall Honey well POS4NET Suite. Uninstall can also be performed by double-clicking Honeywell POS4NET Suite.exe.

Modify allows you to install additional components. Repair will check for the existence of components and repair them if
they are damaged or not present. Remove uninstalls all components except the HHIDMA component and POS SDK.
The HHIDMA can only be removed through the
Control Panel -Add Remove Programs. Locate Honeywell HHIDMA and select Remove.
The POS SDK can only be removed through
Control Panel -Add Remove Programs. Locate Microsoft POS SDK 1.12 and select Remove
Note: If RemoteMastermind is in use, HHIDMA should not be removed
To perform unattended installation of the service object and the required HHIDMA SDK, execute the following commands from a . command prompt: Silent Service Object Installation
1. Create a new .bat file with a unique name. 2. Update the .bat file with the following 2 commands:
-- to install HHIDMA: msiexec /i "<Path to Honeywell HHIDMA.msi>" /qn 2nd command to install -- Honeywell POS4NET :"< Path to Honeywell POS4NET Suite.exe>" /S /V/qn /VADDLOCAL=ServiceObjects
3. Save the .bat file and run it.

POS SDK,HHIDMA and RemService Information
Install The RemService service component is required by the POS4NET service object. The RemService.exe is provided with the HHIDMA SDK. The Honeywell POS4NET Suite installs the HHIDMA SDK and sets up the terminal to start the RemService service. Installation of the HHIDMA SDK requires no user interaction.
The POS SDK component is required by POS4NET. The Suite installs the POS SDK
Uninstall The HHIDMA can only be removed through the Control Panel -Add Remove Programs. Locate Honeywell HHIDMA and select Remove.
