The candidate must possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree awarded from an ACPE- accredited College of Pharmacy. 2. The candidate must be eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in Nebraska. 3. Membership in the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists is required. 4. To be considered for an onsite interview, the candidate must apply via the PhORCAS online application system by the listed deadline. CHI Health Immanuel Located in North Omaha just off of I-680 on 72nd Street, CHI Health Immanuel is a full-service hospital, Cancer Center, Rehabilitation Institute and Specialty Spine Hospital. Immanuel also offers Psychiatric services and serves as a Hospitality House for out-of-town families. Immanuel has a teaching and research affiliation with Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professionals and has decentralized clinical pharmacists available to all care units. Clinical pharmacy functions include pharmacokinetic monitoring and dosing, multidisciplinary care team rounding, antimicrobial stewardship, anticoagulation monitoring and management, drug information and overall pharmacotherapy monitoring and dosing. The residency program at Immanuel is designed to develop a practitioner with expertise in the provision of pharmaceutical care that centers on development of knowledge and skills needed to become a competent and confident practitioner. The resident will be accountable for optimizing drug therapy and achieving the most favorable outcomes as a member of the CHI Health care team. The resident will provide drug information and education to patients, other healthcare professionals and students. The residency is flexible and provides the residents with a wide range of experiences. Purpose StatementThe purpose of the Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency Program is to provide organized and directed pharmacy training in a community hospital setting. The program develops the knowledge and skills of the resident in various areas including: medication therapy management, communication, practice management, critical thinking, time management, clinical research, drug information and teaching. The program offers the resident the opportunity and stimulus to develop, to the highest degree obtainable, his/her professional expertise as a practitioner. Graduates of this program will be highly qualified to practice as pharmacist clinicians in patient care positions, adjunct faculty positions, or for PGY2 training in their area of choice.

StructureCHI Health Immanuel residency program consists of 12 months, to include a minimum of 2,000 hours of contact time, extended over 50 weeks. The structure of the program is organized to provide the achievement of residency goals in the areas of acute patient care and pharmacotherapy.

Residency Opportunities1. Provision of drug information related to patient

care and prospective therapeutic drug monitoring to ensure provision of safe, efficacious, and cost-effective pharmacotherapy to patients.

2. Decentralized clinical pharmacy services in Medical Surgical service, Adult ICU, Hematology/Oncology, Psychiatry, and during Multidisciplinary Care Team Rounds.

3. Staffing as a clinical pharmacist in the Inpatient Pharmacy.

4. Teaching opportunities are available with didactic lectures, grand rounds presentations, and precepting Pharm.D. students on clinical rotations.

5. Optional value added programs are available through the Creighton University School of Pharmacy and Health Professions including the Teaching Certificate Program, Reflection Practitioner & Ignation Values seminars, and Advanced Critical Care Therapeutics.

Stipend and BenefitsThe Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Pharmacy Practice Residency Program at Immanuel offers a competitive stipend. Additional benefits include paid vacation/sick time, medical insurance plans, and financial support to attend the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists Midyear Clinical Meeting.
