Late last year Dr Peter Farrell AM, on behalf ofResMed, generously donated a portfolio of o er178 photographs by Ma Dupain documentingthe building of the Sydney Opera House.Showing arious stages of construction o ereight years, the earliest images are dominatedby elaborate scaffolding before the classicprofile of Jrn Ut ons brilliant design beginsto emerge. The photographs were originallyprinted for Peter Hall, the go ernment architectwho took o er on Ut ons departure from theproject, and were acquired by Dr Farrell at

auction. A selection are displayed on le el 5of the Museum and are also featured in theforthcoming Powerhouse publication Building a masterpiece: the Sydney Opera House .

Dr Farrell is the chairman and CEO of ResMed,the company he founded in 198 to de elopa treatment for obstructi e sleep apnea, a lifethreatening condition affecting millions aroundthe world. He is recognised as a world leaderin inno ation and entrepreneurship and hasbeen honoured with many awards includingAustralian Entrepreneur of the Year, AustralianE port Hero and National Entrepreneur of the

Year for Health Sciences of America.

Dr Farrell was introduced to the Museum bybroadcaster and Foundation ambassador,Robyn Williams.
