the ProduCt range Powerstar is the versatile truck that can handle any job, big or small. There are plenty of engine options, with a power range of 450hp to 560hp and torque of up to 1850 lb/ft. The dashboard features the easy to read IVECO Colour Display (ICD), with controls linked to the steering wheel, so you can keep an eye on speed, fuel consumption and any mechanical updates that might be required. Radio and CD player controls are right there on the wheel too, so you’re free to keep your eyes on the road at all times.

aCtiVe day – day CaBThe Powerstar ADN is a versatile day cab, specially designed for inner city and/or tipper jobs with maximum payload capabilities.

Increased space in the cab makes for better comfort and visibility, while back wall pockets will take care of anything you need to keep safe. You’ll be comfortable too, with flat floors, adjustable steering column, and ISRI’s latest air suspended seat with intergrated seat belt.

With wide opening doors (90°) and non-slip steps, the Powerstar ADN is a breeze to get in and out of – something you’ll be thankful for at the end of a long day.

aCtiVe time – sleePer CaB

The Powerstar ATN sleeper cabs take on-the-job comfort to new levels.

ISRI air suspension seats and a fully adjustable steering column let you take control of your seating position, while wide opening doors with low-level windows make for easy access and great visibility.

The 2.3 metre Active Time sleeper cab design focuses on improving job times by reducing driver fatigue. With larger bunks and new, innovative materials used in making them, you’ll be able to recharge after long drives with a good night’s sleep. A choice of low or high roof, greater cab space and curtains give you privacy for a well-earned rest.

There’s the option for another bunk too, for the bigger jobs that need two drivers.

liVing area: PerFeCt For relaXationWith larger bunks and new innovative materials used in making them, you’ll be more than happy to live and work in the Powerstar, in complete comfort. The flat, walk-through floors give you easy access from the cab to the sleeper.

The lower bunk is the standard one-piece comfort version, supported by slats, so you’ll be able to get a good night’s rest. There’s a big, 100-litre sliding storage box that can also come in handy as a table, with two conveniently placed cup holders. Lamps placed around the cab mean you’ll never be left in the dark and a useful foldable tray is also available for the back wall.

In the High Roof cab, the upper bunk (optional) has a dampened stowage system so you can get it out quickly and easily, as well as a ladder for getting you up there. The mattress is supported by slats, so it’s comfortable, but it can also be folded up flat against the back wall to allow for more space in the cab.

easy aCCessiBilityWide opening doors (90°) and steps covered with anti-skid surfaces give you easier access to the truck. Automatic step lights are triggered whenever you open the door, which will stay lit for 30 seconds. Grab handles on both sides will give you a hand, entering or exiting the cab.

ATN cabs are fitted standard with big storage boxes on both sides, which are within reach from both inside and outside the cabin.

Cursor engine: Power in aCtion The latest offering from Cursor sits at the heart of the Powerstar Active Day and Active Time.

The Cursor 13 engines – producing 450, 500 and 560hp – use a four valve per cylinder, overhead camshaft layout with unit pump injectors and a variable geometry turbocharger (VGT). High torque values over a wide range of engine speeds means less gear changing, which results in better fuel efficiency and lower emissions.

The CAN-BuS wiring system enables full electronic data exchange between engine, transmission and other equipment, to boost reliability and output.

ProteCting the enVironmentAll Cursor engines are fitted with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology.

SCR technology cuts emissions of NOx and particulates, by injecting a component called ADBlue directly into the exhaust catalytic converter.

While being great for the environment, SCR technology also guarantees the engine’s maximum efficiency, minimum heat rejection and the best possible fuel consumption.

All Cursor engines fitted with SCR technology also meet EuRO5 emission standards.

SCR technology is designed to last for the life of the truck, so it reduces servicing, cuts running and maintenance costs and improves output. ISX

Cummins isX engine: an iCon in the market The 15-litre Cummins ISX uses cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) to meet emissions compliance. EGR is a simple, self-contained sub-system on the engine, with no changes to the proven ISX base engine design. Apart from the driveability provided by the Cummins VG (Variable Geometry) turbocharger, the ISX also delivers best-in-industry engine brake performance with 600 retarding horsepower. Maintenance intervals for the latest ISX are the same as for the pre-EGR engine.

Braking system The Powerstar braking system is designed for safety, reliability and economy. The Anti Slip Reduction system (ASR) stops wheels from slipping when speeds increase, when driving on slippery roads or up steep slopes.

eurotroniC automated transmissionThe 16-speed ZF Eurotronic automated transmission comes with an electronically controlled clutch engagement. When you’re driving in automated mode, the Eurotronic transmission automatically selects the most ideal gearshift, according to the conditions you’re driving in (speed, load, steepness of road etc). This will free you up to keep your eyes on the road and your attention focused on safely getting on with the job.

roadrangerThe Powerstar now comes with the option of the Eaton Roadranger Super 18 speed manual transmission. The Roadranger gives the driver ultimate control for all road situations. Due to patented low-inertia technology, the Roadranger Super 18 delivers smoother, faster and easier shifts for the driver. The Roadranger Super 18 is only available with the Cummins ISX power plant, which gives the Powerstar an all American driveline. With the Roadranger Super 18 fitted to the Powerstar, the vehicle’s overall Gross Combination Mass (GCM) rating is increased from 90 tonnes to 106 tonnes.* This enables the Powerstar to be utilised for the biggest loads, including road train applications.
