Work center Work center -- (CR01 / CR02 / CR03) A work center specifies where an operation/activity is performed within a production plant. A work center can Represent a machine or a group of machines. Work centers are used in the operations of the Routings. Work center

Work center -- (CR01 / CR02 / CR03)

A work center specifies where an operation/activity is performed within a production plant. A work center canRepresent a machine or a group of machines.

Enter the Plant number, work center name and work center category ( Use 0003)

Click on or press Enter.

The work center basic data screen will show up as follows:

The important settings are described as follows:

Work center category – Since SAM has only Labor hours for costing, it is maintained as 0003 always.

Person responsible – Responsible department/ person.

Location – Physical Location of the Work center.

Usage -- Use All task list types (009)

Standard Value Key – Select ‘SAP1’. The Labor time, etc parameter ID selection are configured in This setting.

Click on next tab default values.

Control key: key that defines how an operation is to be processed in functions such as orders, Goods receipts, costing, etc. Use ‘PD01’. This control key is used for Routing / production operations, where a production Confirmation is required or mandatory. The business processes covered in this Control key are Scheduling, Costing, print, printing of confirmation. This control key Does not support Auto Goods Receipt. For manually posting a Goods Receipt, use Transaction: MB31.

Next click on costing tab,

Cost Center; Cost center to which a work center is assigned.

Activity Type : Code that controls, within a cost center, valued processes performed by a specific type of resource, for example the direct labor hours used in production.
