Pre-AP Algebra 1 - SUMMER ASSIGNMENT

Congratulations! You are going take a high school math course in middle school!

The Pre-AP program is designed for self-motivated students and independent thinkers. This summer assignment will give you the opportunity to review or learn expected skills, which are taught in 7th and 81h grade math classes, so that you are prepared for the course in which you are enrolled.

Assignment Requirements:

./ Due the 3rd day of class {Wednesday 8/23/2017} - it is counted as 2 daily grades

./ Completed neatly and legibly- if I can't read it, I won't be able to grade it .

./ Show ALL work or your thought process along each problem. NO WORK= NO GRADE

./ If you need extra room, use notebook paper and staple to the back of the packet along with labeled questions

./ Box the final answers

Additionally, an assessment (major grade) will be given within the first 3 weeks of school to evaluate basic understanding and skill mastery of the topics given in this assignment. This formal, in-class assessment will occur after students have been provided with reasonable opportunity to ask questions at tutoring sessions. My tutoring is on Tuesday and Thursday 8:10am to 8:45 am, other time is available per request. Both the assignment grade (2 daily) and the assessment grade (1 major) will be part of the first nine weeks grade.
