For more than 34 years, SEGi Education Group (SEGi) has equipped graduates from diverse backgrounds with exceptional foundations for career achievement and personal success.

It first opened its doors as Systematic College in 1977 in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s commercial district, offering professional qualifications. Since then, the Group has experienced significant growth by adapting and catering to an increasing demand for higher academic and professional qualifications in Malaysia.

Today, the Group is one of the largest private higher education providers in Malaysia and serves more than 23,000 students through its six major campuses located in the Klang Valley, Penang and Kuching. Students are exposed to a variety of learning methods including lectures, seminars, workshops, presentations as well as practical experience in laboratories and on the job. SEGi also draws a large number of top-notch academics and captains of industries into its community, who serve as academic advisors, lecturers, examiners and moderators.

SEGi Education Group offers a variety of pre-university programmes which have been proven to be also acknowledged and accepted by institutions of higher education in other countries including the United Kingdom of Britain, Russia, India and others. Students who successfully complete the pre-university programmes have been able to enrol in diploma and degree level programmes offered at SEGi and abroad.

Apart from the core subjects for each stream, students at SEGi are also taught Thinking Skills and compulsory LAN subjects, as stipulated by the Ministry of Education.

The philosophy for the programmes is not only to give students a very sound foundation in core subjects, but also to train them to be well-rounded, independent individuals. The foundation programmes are designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and practice needed to qualify for university entrance en route to a career in health science, engineering or computing. The programme bridges students’ from secondary studies to a university degree. This programme covers pure and applied sciences which provides a strong foundation for students intending to articulate into Health Sciences, Engineering and Computing. The foundation will guarantee graduates’ entry into quality degrees with SEGi University College as well as those from top-notch UK universities in partnership with SEGi. The foundation will also enable students to gain exemptions into the respective SEGi degree programmes. The Foundation in Science at SEGi is fully accredited by the Malaysia Qualifications Agency (MQA), and is recognized by universities throughout Malaysia and worldwide.

This qualification is specially designed for students with SPM, GCE O’Level or equivalent qualifications and who have decided to pursue a career in health science, engineering or computing. Upon successful completion of the Foundation in Science programme, students may articulate into a range of health science, engineering or computing degree programmes.

The Foundation in Arts programme is designed to equip post-secondary school students with the knowledge, skills and practice needed to qualify for university entrance en route to more specific career pathways. The programme utilises comprehensive syllabus in the aim of providing students with a smooth transition from their secondary studies to a university degree.

The Foundation in Arts is designed to develop wellrounded independent thinkers. Core papers such as Public Speaking and Critical Thinking Skills are incorporated into the programme to ensure students are provided a holistic approach to learning. Students are given a wide range of electives to choose from to ensure that they have a solid foundation before embarking on their undergraduate studies.

This one year arts foundation will guarantee graduates’ entry into quality degrees with SEGi University College as well as those from top-notch UK, USA and Australian universities in partnership with SEGi.

This qualification is specially designed for students with SPM, GCE O-Levels or equivalent qualifications and who would like a pathway to pursue a bachelor degree at university. Upon successful completion of the Foundation in Arts programme, students may articulate into a range of degree programmes and, depending on units completed during their studies, students may be eligible to apply for advanced standing.

The GCE A-Levels qualification places emphasis on knowledge, understanding, reasoning abilities and skills. The programme is globally recognised offering students comprehensive and dynamic curriculum as well as flexible study pathways. It is one of the most recognised pre-university qualifications in the world and is accepted as proof of academic ability for entry into world-class universities.

The GCE A-Levels qualification available at SCSJ follows the new structure of examinations: Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and Advanced Level (A2). Students are prepared for the examinations in 2 phases, which takes away the pressure of one set of final examinations at the end. The standard 18-months programme comprises 3 semesters, each about 6 months in duration. Students will sit for their AS examinations at the end of Semester Two and their A2 examinations at the end of Semester Three. Examination papers are set and marked by examiners from the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE).
