WHAT WORKED WELL

Our group worked well together this meant the task was completed on the deadline and to a fairly good standard, for the experience we had.

We shot all the different techniques that we needed to practice in this task and it all flowed together well.

The editing seemed to fit together as we filmed enough shots for editing properly.

ANY MISTAKES?

The audio in parts was a bit quiet, this could have been fixed by using an external microphone to enhance the sound.

In the editing process our sound was moved forward a couple of seconds so that it did not match what was going on, on screen. If we had realised before we uploaded the film we could have sorted this out.

USE OF CAMERA

We tried to use the camera in a number of different ways so the we could get a good number of different ways.

One way used the camera was on a tripod. This was mainly on the dialogue section so that the shot was steady so you could focus on the faces of the ‘actors’ talking.

Another way was using a steady cam accessory. This was when characters where moving to avoid a shaky frame which doesn't look too good.

THE PROCESS OF FILMING

We started with a storyboard. This was so when it came to filming we knew exactly what we were going to film.

We made sure we film each shot multiple times so that when it came to editing we had plenty of material to tweak to make the film look as best it could be.

USE OF PREMIERE PRO

We initially uploaded the clips using an external memory stick from the SD card.

Then we continued to add onto the main editing part of the program. We used the razor tool the most to cut parts of shots in half to make the film run more smoother.

In the dancing scene we decided to add strobe lightening to give the scene more character.

FILM FEATURES

We made sure we used match on action whilst opening the door and also when the two characters were sat down talking. This made the film flow more and be more believable.

We also made sure we used the 180 degrees rule.

SOUND

Sound was not our strongest point in this task. This was due to unwanted background noises not being able to get rid of, and also dialogue being quiet.

We bypassed this by getting rid of original sound and added tense music to give the film more character and feel.

OVERALL

I think the preliminary task went better than what we initially thought it was going to.

If I was to do this again I would alter the sound to make it better and also change the lighting of the scenes to make it more tense.
