ScholarshipsMerit Scholarship

10% seats are reserved in each programme for meritorious students. Candidates meeting the below mentioned criteria can avail 50% waiver on tuition fee of the first semester.

Eligibility & Scholarship Criteria

• The scholarship will be offered to students securing an aggregate of 80% marks in class X & XII and 80% marks in PCM/B for B.Tech. (all streams) in CBSE / ICSE / State Examination Board.

• The scholarship will be awarded based on merit only.

• Continuation of the scholarship in the subsequent years will be as per the university policy.

1. Merit order allotment of one seat per programme

2. The seats reserved under this category will be within the 15% reservation for Uttarakhand resident students

3. Should have ‘Sthai Niwas Praman Patra’ (Permanent Residence Certificate)

4. Students will be entitled only for one scholarship at a time (either through the Uttarakhand Board Toppers category or through the Uttarakhand Resident category)

5. Scholarship in subsequent years will be as per merit scholarship policy of the university

Scholarship Amount• 25% tuition fee waiver for boys and 35% for girl students respectively in the first year

Girl Scholarship

20% Scholarship for Girl Students for intake in undergraduate programmes at UPES for the Academic Year 2021-22.

This scholarship will be offered for first year on the tuition fee to all girl students taking admission in UPES in the year 2021 subject to a minimum of 70% marks in 12th Board exams. The renewal of the scholarship will only be offered for subsequent years based on the criteria laid down by the university

Tuition Fee Concession For Bonafide Uttarakhand Residents

• Up to 100% fee waiver for one year, for the wards who have lost their family’s primary bread winner in the last one year.

• Up to 20% scholarship on one year tuition fees for the wards of COVID frontline warriors (doctors, nurses, employees of municipal bodies, military, paramilitary and police personnel).

• Up to 20% scholarship on one year tuition fees for the wards of teachers as a mark of appreciation for their services.

1) Mandatory Documents To Be Submitted Along With The Admission Form Students are requested to submit the enclosed admission form duly filled along with the self-attested photocopies of the below mentioned documents and three latest passport size photographs (duly signed with the application number at the back).

• Class 10th marksheet & passing certificate

• Class 12th (PCM/B) marksheet & passing certificate

• UPES admission offer letter

• JEE Mains score card in original (if applied through JEE Mains Pathway)

• Domicile Certificate issued by a competent authority of Uttarakhand state (if applicable)

• Migration/Transfer Certificate in original

• Income Certificate of parents along with a copy of the last income tax return filed (if applicable)

Note: Domicile Certificate in original, issued by a competent authority of the Uttarakhand state, should be produced at the time of registration for the verification purpose.

3) Documents Verification At The Time Of Registration (Campus Joining) On the day of registration, all attested photocopies of certificates and documents submitted by the students will be verified. Students must carry all original documents with them on the day of registration for verification. If at any time on or after the registration for verification, it is found that the information or document(s) provided by a student is/are not valid or is/are fabricated, his/her admission will immediately stand cancelled and no refund of fees will be admissible.

Please note: It is mandatory for all students seeking admission to provide their Aadhaar card number at the time of registration.

4) Deposit Of First Semester Fee Consequent to the admission offer from UPES, the first semester programme fee respective to the programme offered must be paid as per the details mentioned in your offer letter failing which the admission offer will stand lapse.

8) Hostel Facility Residential blocks have been earmarked for limited on-campus accommodation (on first come, first served basis) separately for boys and girls on triple sharing basis. Student wishing to avail hostel facility (on-campus) will need to deposit the fee as indicated. (Academic session 2021-22 only)

Note: Students desirous of availing the campus hostel facility should submit the following documents along with the requisite hostel fee without fail.

A student who registers for the hostel (on-campus) and withdraws the same at any point of time during the academic year will not be entitled to hostel fee refund. In case, the seat is filled up by another boarder, proportionate refund may be considered on the prorate basis.

UPES does not have any direct or indirect tie-up whatsoever with any of the above- mentioned hostels and does not undertake any responsibility in this regard. Parents are advised to verify the data independently before finalizing any arrangement with the concerned hostel and sign a written contract with the hostel owners.

9) Transport Facility• Boarders residing in on-campus hostels will be provided transportation facility to the city once a week free of charge.

• Day scholars residing in Dehradun can avail transportation facility to the UPES campus by paying charges of Rs. 20,000/- for the academic year 2021-2022.

10) Student Loan FacilityStudents taking admission in UPES are eligible to avail education loan from any bank in terms of priority sector lending policy of RBI. However, the university has also entered a formal tie-up with Oriental Bank of Commerce, Credila - an HDFC Ltd. Company, Axis Bank, State Bank of India and Punjab National Bank (copies enclosed) to facilitate sanction of educational loan. Prospective students can contact them for availing loan.

11) Disputes And DifferencesDisputes and differences, if any, arising between the student and the university shall be settled through arbitration by a sole arbitrator to be appointed by UPES. The venue of the arbitration proceedings shall be at New Delhi and the language of arbitration shall be English. The decision and judgement of the arbitrator shall be final and binding upon the parties.
