Politehnica University of Timisoara (UPT) is one of the biggest and most well known technical universities from Central and Eastern Europe. Over the 93 years of existence, our university has built a well deserved reputation for excellence. The excellence is based on the academic programs, research, the support given to students, which leads to a good relationship with alumni, engagement in the socio-economic life of the region.

Established in 1920, shortly after the Union of Romanian territories, Politehnica University of Timisoara was the answer to one of the requirements of the Romanian society of the time, namely the formation of engineers.
