Smart specialisation in the Helsinki-Uusimaa Region – The strategy RIS3
The strategy on smart specialisation defines the specialisation themes that the Helsinki-Uusimaa Region will be focusing on from 2014 to 2020.
Five specialisation themes:
• Urban Cleantech• Human Health Tech• Digitalising Industry • Welfare City• Smart Citizen
Each theme forms an umbrella, under which actors and stakeholders, skills and projects are gathered.

Regional Land Use Planning
• The Regional Land Use Plans sets out the principles of land use and community structure
• The Regional Land Use Plan is a long term plan and a guideline for the municipalities in drawing up and amending local master plans and local detailed plans
• The making of the Regional Land Use Plans is mandated by the Land Useand Building Act
• The Regional Land Use Plans are confirmed by the Ministryof the Environment

• The Regional Plan 4 for the Helsinki-Uusimaa Region aims to create preconditions for a competitive region offering well-being for its inhabitants, that is not exceeding the limits of sustainable development.

Central Baltic Contact Point Finland
• The Helsinki-Uusimaa Regional Council is the managing authority for the Central Baltic Contact Point Finland during the programme period 2014–2020

• The Central Baltic Programme 2014–2020 funds cross-border cooperation projects in the Baltic Sea area
