400.1.5 requiring non-exempted programs to be
no longer than 120 credits
• Follows our internal audit and reductions to
University Studies and a few larger degree
programs

accreditation/licensure issues): – Coastal Engineering BS (126 Credits)
– Nursing pre-licensure BS (125 Credits)
– Elementary Education BA (121 Credits)
– BM Music Education (121 Credits)
NIST Agreement:

use of MARBIONC
• NIST provided a $15 million grant to help build
the MARBIONC (2010)
• 13 laboratories (16,560 sq ft) for lease for marine
science entrepreneurship, technology transfer,
and economic development
• As of October 2018, 8 labs are leased to
companies (62% of lease sq ft)
• Requesting NIST permission to use the
unleased laboratories to accommodate faculty
displaced from Dobo Hall for up to 3 years.
