of Dry Creek Productions & Tate Productions When John Tate, a college senior, sent his extremely limited resume’ to Realtree Outdoor Productions, he had no clue if he’d even get a response. Less than a week later he was on the phone with David Blanton discussing an internship! Soon after that, his career in the outdoor industry began.

Fourteen years later, John has grown that limited resume’ to include filming and producing the best-selling Realtree Monster Bucks DVD series and the Realtree Outdoors TV shows on TNN and ESPN2. He was also involved with the popular Realtree Roadtrips TV show.

John went out on his own two years ago and has two production companies he’s a part of now. He is the producer of the Hank Parker 3D TV show which airs on the Versus network, Pursuit Channel and WildTV. John has also created, filmed and produced several commercials and web videos for Realtree, C’Mere Deer, Swhacker Broadheads, Hoyt, PSE, Plano, FireFly and On-Time Feeders. John lives in his home town of Pumpkin Center, North Carolina close to his family.”

The venue in the field is Drop-Tine Farms Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. Drop-Tine Farms Bloomsburg is our 100 acre research & demonstration facility where many products and services are studied and examined at a “scientific” level. This venue will present real world scenarios in the field and one on one time with the instructors. You can further benefit by having your equipment that you will be using this year so the instructors can ensure that you are maximizing your results in the field. of Drop-Tine Wildlife ConsultingDrop-Tine President, Jason R. Snavely, is a consulting wildlife biologist and entrepreneur. He grew up in Eastern Pennsylvania where he developed a passion for spending time in the outdoors. He attended Mississippi State University and earned a degree in Wildlife Science. Jason was fortunate to get to know and work for the nations top

deer researchers, managers, wildlife biologists. These individuals have shaped Jason into the deer nut he is today. Jason’s articles have appeared in Quality Whitetails, Farming for Wildlife and Deer & Deer Hunting and he regularly gives seminars and demonstrations on all aspects of white-tailed deer biology, management and hunting. As a private wildlife consultant Jason works with private landowners, hunting clubs and corporate landowners developing custom wildlife management plans. His career takes him throughout the whitetail’s range. Like most outdoor enthusiasts Jason grew up watching every episode of Realtree’s Monster Bucks. Ironically, much of the work Jason was a fan of for so many years was done by the instructors of our video school. When he’s not working with clients, planting food plots or conducting trail camera surveys he can be found chasing friends and clients through the woods and fields with his camera over his shoulder and ready for action.Today, Jason spends much of his time working with private landowners, purchasing and developing deer hunting properties, and working on his food plot research and demonstration facilityJason lives in Bloomsburg, PA with his wife Brooke, 4 year old son Grant and 4 month old daughter Teddi.

Course Dates & Schedule:Fall 2010 - October 23rd 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. & October 24th 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. on the 23rd and class begins at 8:00 a.m.

Course VenueThe unique aspect of our Filming the Outdoors experience is our committed focus on hands on, in the field experience with the instructors at Drop-Tine Farms in Bloomsburg, PA. Drop-Tine Farms serves as the research and demonstration facility for Drop-Tine Wildlife Consulting and it’s close proximity to I-80 (you can see the highway from the farm) makes it a premier location for a camera school; not to mention an incredibly gorgeous October setting with our own fair share of healthy critters on the ground and in the trees. The corn on the farm has done excellent this year due to timely rains and the late maturing forage soybeans are nearly as tall as the corn! Fall plots of brassicas, wheat, oats, winter peas, clover, chicory and many others are planted and stand and blind locations are marked. If getting out of the classroom and into the field with industry pioneers like John Tate and John Brown is what you are after this event is for you. You can expect to film from multiple tree stand placements, in blinds and in stalking and handheld scenarios. Speaking of the classroom setting, we understand that there is a need to just sit down and relax in a controlled environment while the instructors detail their experiences filming the icons in the industry around the world, explain what it takes to be one of the greats in the industry, and cover the latest and greatest technology. We have a class room ready for our instructors to show you their editing equipment, software and tricks. We will spare no expense when it comes to arming our instructors with the equipment and facilities to provide an experience that will make you want to come back again with different mixes of instructors. We’ve even given them the go ahead to speak the truth about competing in today’s market where it seems there’s a crew (and client) behind every tree willing to cut you out for a few dollars. Gaining this experience provides the knowledge you will need to provide added value to your clients taking yourself out of that rat race.

Is this course for you?This course was designed for the outdoor video enthusiast who has been searching for a competitive advantage over the growing supply of freelance videographers. We would hope that you have the basic concepts of powering up your camera and its basic operation. We also want you to know that our instructors and partners are always looking for new talent...who knows you might walk away with a job placement you’ve only dreamed of! We’re committed to doing everything we can to take care of our students after the course is complete. We encourage students to bring their equipment to hone skills needed during the season. Further, instructors will be able to look over your equipment, make recommendations and instruct you how to maximize your results for seasons to come. Accommodations (meals & lodging)Hotel accommodations for Saturday October 23rd are included in the cost of the school. We will offer transportation from the Holiday Inn Express to the farm and back (unless like many guests you prefer to stick around a while and film some hunts!). They do offer a continental breakfast.

We will provide lunches on both days of the school. Snacks, coffee, water and soft drinks will also be available complimentary of Drop-Tine Wildlife Consulting. Depending on demand, we may offer an optional Saturday night dinner with the instructors and/or a special guest speaker. There will be an extra fee for this dinner but we will do everything we can to keep it very reasonable for the value offered.

Course Investment & Payment ScheduleYour investment for two days of Filming the Outdoors School of Videography is $1,100. A deposit (check or money order) of $600.00 is required to secure your spot in the course. We must receive the remaining balance owed ($500.00) by October 20, 2010. Seating will be limited to ensure adequate one-on-one time for each student. All returned checks will result in a $30 service charge. If you withdrawal yourself from the course you will be refunded your deposit less the fee of $400.00. Seating will be LIMITED so please make every effort to attend. The entire weekend will be filmed...we will discuss this at the school.

CancellationIn the event that the course must be cancelled due to bad weather, emergencies or other acts of God your deposit will apply to the next course we offer. Like you, we do not want to cancel this event!

What you needWe encourage you to bring your equipment along as you will gain more from the course. Considering the nature of our job it’s also advisable to bring the proper clothing and footwear for field sessions (rain gear, etc.)

What you will take homeBesides an incredible amount of information we will provide instructional materials, registration materials, a name tag and a certificate of completion.
