“Press Meet at Hotel Vivanta by Taj, Guwahati”

During the recent visit of Shri Utpal Bora, Chairman and Managing Director, OIL to PHQ, Narengi Guwahati, a press

meet was held at Hotel Vivanta by Taj, Guwahati on the 04th of August 2018. Apart from the CMD and other Senior Officials

of the Company, the Press Meet was also attended by Shri S K Sahi, Director CSRL, Super 30 and many Senior Journalists of

leading Publications of the region. The Chairman eloquently interacted with the media personals highlighting the

achievements of the Company.

Apart from speaking on the recent activities of the Company, CMD announced the upcoming of piped gas projects in

Guwahati and Barak Valley. Shri Utpal Bora added that the works on the project are expected to be executed simultaneously

with the North East Natural Gas Pipeline Grid Project which will connect the region to the National Gas Grid. Both the

projects, the Gas pipeline from Barauni and the piped gas projects from Guwahati and Silchar –Hailakandi-Karinganj are

likely to be completed in the next three(03) years time.CMD also announced a cash incentive of ₹ 20 lacs from Oil India

Limited to the new sprint sensation Ms Hima Das for her excellent performance in the international track and for bringing

pride and glory to Assam by winning Gold in the recently held World Junior Athletics Championship 2018.

Besides, a coffee table book on “OIL’s Super 30” was also released in the Press Meet.CMD added that ever since the

inception of OIL Super 30, it has given rich dividends to the Company. Priority has been given to those meritorious BPL

students whose parents’ income is less than 1.5 lacs per annum. Altogether 828 students were trained under the

programme, of which 595 have been well placed in various colleges, 153 have made it to the IITs and 17 of them are already

working in PSUs.
