This will allow the eastern half of Boyer and Huntley Roads to be reconstructed. Temporary daily lane closures will be required to work on these portions of Boyer and Huntley Roads. This work is anticipated to be complete in 3-4 weeks, weather dependent. For the safety of the motorists and construction workers, the eastbound traffic signal on Huntley Road at Boyer Road will no longer allow continuous right turns on green. Traffic turning south onto Huntley Road must obey the traffic signals with a red light; meaning a stop to all traffic. During red light traffic signal periods on Huntley Road, motorists wanting to turn south on Huntley Road will need to make a complete stop, and if it is safe to do so, may proceed with caution and turn south onto Huntley Road. This new turning restriction will be permanent. Please watch for and obey flaggers and other traffic control devices, and watch for trucks and equipment leaving and entering the sites along Boyer and Huntley Roads during the construction. Motorists should be prepared to reduce their speed, exercise caution, be extra alert, expect increased travel times and adjust their schedules accordingly. A reminder – it is illegal for drivers to talk on a cell phone while driving through a highway construction work zone. The Longmeadow Parkway Fox River Bridge Corridor is a planned tree-lined parkway and new Fox River Bridge crossing with a landscaped median, approximately 5.6 miles in length, running from Huntley Road to IL Route 62. The proposed road passes through portions of the Villages of Algonquin, Carpentersville and Barrington Hills, as well as unincorporated areas of Kane County, and will provide a valuable benefit to the public by relieving congestion, encouraging economic development, improving travel options and connecting towns and neighborhoods. Additional information is available on the Longmeadow Parkway page of the Kane County Division of Transportation’s website.

Longmeadow Parkway – Huntley/Boyer Road to west of Randall Road

New Construction Kane County Section No. 13-00215-00-PV

During the week of July 05, 2016, traffic will be switched on Boyer Road and on Huntley Road south of Boyer by moving both directions of travel to the west side of the existing pavement.
