• A 2013 systematic review of randomized trials(for efficacy) and both trials and observational studies
(for safety) performed – Limited evidence for preventing cancer or cardiovascular
disease – Borderline significant reduction in the risk of cancer – No effect on cardiovascular disease – Multivitamin supplementation also did not appear to
reduce the risk of mortality.– No benefit on cognitive function – A small reduction in the risk of cataracts with multivitamin
supplementation
