Discuss what you think about the characters? How would you describe them? How could the story have ended differently? How did the the pigs trick the wolf? Do you think it is the same wolf from the red riding hood story? Which pig built the strongest house? How do you know?I want you to change the ending of the story – how would you like it to end? You can bring in another character or keep the characters, you can help the wolf or trick the wolf in another way. Can you write a sentence to say how you would change the ending?

Play the phonics game show level 2 phonics on Twinkl – select the letter that matches the sound for the picture shown.

MathsBefore beginning to write number sentences as we did yesterday – please support your child with just using objects that they can touch to practise taking away an amount of objects from a group. It is important that they understand the concept and can physically see items are taken away from the amount. With this the amount grows smaller in value and there are now ‘less’. Start off with amounts up to 10 first and then go up to 20 if they are finding this simple. (you can use anything around the house – pasta, grapes, lego, toy cars, dolls, teddies etc.)Reinforce that they are subtracting/taking away whilst they are removing an amount by showing them the subtract symbol (or using the action as shown on zoom yesterday) and then reinforce that they are finding the total amount left by showing them the equals symbol or action once the items have been ‘taken away’ Then say the number sentence out loud together e.g. ‘so we have found that five take away two equals three’

Literacy/TopicBased on what you have learned about the 3 little pigs story, I would like you to complete the story map on Twinkl, they can draw pictures and write a word rather than a sentence. Can

Literacy/TopicDiscuss the materials that the 3 little pigs used to build their houses and why some of them didn’t work. What is your house made of? Go through the ‘materials power point’ on Twinkl and discuss the different materials – can you find something in your house made of each different material. Why is it used to make that object? What would happen if it was made from something else? E.g. why can your gloves not be made from paper? Why are they made of wool? Why is your sofa not made of metal?
