https://www.teamgb.com/athletes/louis-smithThis week we would like you to work on

increasing your arm strength.

Activity: Push Ups Use the picture below to help you get the correct push up position. Start by seeing how many push ups you can complete in 1 minute. As the week goes on see if you can improve your score. If 1 minute is too easy then increase your time. Good Luck!

Blogging is like an online diary. It is a place where you can share your thoughts, feelings, ideas or anything! On Purple Mash a blog has been set up for Year 4 (There is a guide on how to access it at the end of this page.)We would like you to contribute to our year group blog. We would like to know what you have been up to during the lockdown – we can’t wait to hear all about the amazing things you have been doing!

You can write on the blog as often as you like – but keep it sensible and your teachers will be checking what you’re writing!(This is the same as last

week – keep adding to it!)

GeographyNelson Mandela was born and lived in the country of South Africa. South Africa is in the continent of Africa. This week we would like you to learn about the different countries in Africa. You will find a labelled map of Africa and a blank map of Africa in the attachments. Can you use the labelled map to help you label all the different countries of Africa onto the blank map? There are then some challenge questions for you to answer if you are up for it.

P.S.H.E. D.T.Design Technology is not just about making models – it is also about cooking! This week we would like you to have a go at

In the news this week there has been a lot of focus on

#blacklivesmatter Which is a modern way of saying racism is still a

problem in modern society. This week we want you to think about how important it is to treat everyone

equally, no matter what colour skin they have. Read the PowerPoint about Nelson Mandela, a very

famous man from history who fought for equal rights of black and white people in

South Africa.

Then can you create a poster that Nelson Mandela might have used during apartheid to raise

awareness of giving everybody equal rights.

making some Viking Bread (sounds yummy doesn’t it?)https://raisinglifelonglearners.com/kids-in-the-kitchen-viking-bread-recipe-2/

This will cover your next two weeks of D.T. learning! Can you share pictures on our Facebook page of your bread?

ArtThis week we want you to link your artwork to the

story of Beowulf. Beowulf is famous for slaying

monsters, one of the most famous being Grendel. This

week we would like you to create your own monster that Beowulf might have slayed and

create a sketch of it. Your monster can be based on a real life animal just with some nasty changes. For example: a tiger but it

walks on its hind legs and has a snakes tongue and wings.

Think about the following questions to help you design your monster.

How big is it? Does it have horns? What are its eyes like? Does it have

MusicWhole School Music Mission!

We would love all children to begin learning the Makaton version of The Blessing. We hope

to get all of the children performing this together whether virtually or in school in the

teeth? Can you see its muscles? Is it similar to an animal we already know? What makes it so

vicious?

perform the song and if you are brave enough, record yourself doing in. However, more information on this next week.

HistoryLast week you learnt the story of Beowulf. I

hope that you found his story interesting and exciting! Beowulf was a superb warrior who battled many monsters. This week we are

going to focus on the character of Beowulf and try to describe him. Using what you know about him so far, some further internet research and the picture below write a

character description of Beowulf. There is a selection of pictures of Beowulf and a sheet to

present your work on in the attachments. Here is my first few sentences to guide you.....Beowulf was a magnificent warrior. During the Viking period he slayed many vicious, brutal monsters. He was fearless and courageous, always facing danger head on. Upon his shoulders, he always wore an animal skin cloak, which kept his enormous muscles warm. Beowulf would always carry a sword in his hand, ready for a fight…….

French Lesson 3: Weather Around the World

Use the PowerPoint attached to learn the difference between masculine and feminine countries when describing the weather around the world. Work through the PowerPoint and then complete the sheet attached. The task is to write sentences describing the different weather around the world, but focusing on using the correct

masculine or feminine for the word ‘in’.

Your teachers would LOVE to see the work you are currently doing at home.

Ask your parents to upload pictures of your work to our new Facebook page to share what you are learning.

Your teachers are missing you, we all hope we can get back to normal as quickly as possible and see your faces in school, until

then: Stay Safe, Stay Indoors!
