Zachary A. Jones, Library Associate, Largo-Kettering Branch Program : Model Car Mechanics Projected Date: October or any month with 5 Wednesdays Budget: Pending on group size (how many people) Program Need: This program is needed as it will not only tap into the creativity of the minds of youth but also allows for them to see how these things work. Working with the general principles of STEM, children learn scientific principles such as aerodynamics, engines, speed, and physics. I created this program with a need to not only address an interest of particularly (young boys), who find it problematic finding reading of interest. I also wanted this to be a program that will engage and illuminate talents and academic pursuits that may go unknown. This is a hands-on learning experience which in my opinion one of the best ways to learn. Program Steps 1. Submit proposal for programming 2. Develop Marketing Tools (Flyers, Word of Mouth, Library Website & Newsletter) 3. Use Community Partners and marketing tools to generate a demographic 4. Generate Registration for the program so the proper resources can be allocated 5. Contact with friends group of the library to discuss funding and participation in the project. 6. Secure the space and location for the program to be operated and pick a specific time window for the program ( preferably afternoon after school) 7. Acquire all necessary tools for the program: books, laptop, projector, and necessary handouts to present the program the properly.

I decided to go with the Die Cast Metal body plastic model cars. They have anywhere between 30-50 pieces. This makes the cars easy enough for all those that participate but detailed enough to show the process. The pricing of each car is $17.69 ea. They will be purchased online from www.Hobbylinc.com.

The Four Cars to choose from are:

2010 Camaro SS #MAI39269

2012 Lamborghini Gallardo #MAI39291
