P&C Meeting

Many thanks to the families who attended the P&C Meeting on Zoom on Monday night. The technology worked very well. If you tried to join and were unable to do so, could you please get in touch by calling the office so we can work with the P&C to ensure it is accessible to as many people as possible.

Bell Times

A question was raised at the meeting regarding our end of school time. It has always been 2.55pm and this has not changed. In order to avoid assemblies in the afternoon, the bus students have lined up at 2.50pm and are walked to the bus, and classes come out one by one at 2.55pm. If any student cannot see their parent, they stay with a teacher at the gate until they arrive. Before social distancing, this took place in the office. No student is ever left unsupervised after school. We understand that delays happen, and would appreciate it if you could call the office to let us know if you are any more than ten minutes late so we can reassure your child.

Please note that students should not arrive at school prior to 8.25am when supervision begins.

Canteen Recommencing in Term 3

The canteen will reopen in term 3. The intention is to open again on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but this will depend on the number of volunteers available. A survey will be posted on Seesaw and Facebook asking for parent help very soon.

Picasso Cow Program

This week our Picasso Cow arrived. The cow is made of fibreglass (some of our students were a little concerned that it was real when it arrived, covered in bubble wrap). After some learning programs related to the dairy industry which incorporates English, PDHPE and art, we will name and decorate the cow and enter a competition. The cow will stay at school as a permanent sculpture.

Loose Parts Play

Our loose parts play program has been very successful and students are creating some amazing designs at lunch time and recess. New parts are always welcome, particularly small tarps, pipes, milk crates, light planks of wood (nail free and fairly smooth), and any other items that you think could be used for creative building. If you have any items you would like to donate, please call the school and we can arrange a drop off time.

STEAM Day

On Wednesday, 24th June we will be holding our term 2 STEAM Day. All students have chosen choose two workshops in the morning session.

Holiday Dates

Kindergarten has been working really hard and you can see how proud they are of their achievements. Look at the words that they can read and write all by themselves. They have been working hard in writing and yesterday we had our first lesson on writing a procedure.
