National Day Against Bullying Last Friday, our staff and students recognised the eighth National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence (NDA). The National Day of Action is Australias key anti-bullying event for schools and FHPS participated with a variety of multi-age activities, culminating in a whole school assembly. At the assembly all classes shared a range of posters, displaying pertinent anti-bullying messages and all area levels sang a range of beautiful and emotionally moving songs that contained relevant lyrics, fitting the theme of the day. I thank the school community for supporting this special day, and encourage all families to continue to discuss and promote anti- bullying messages, as we aim to Take a Stand Togetherand say, Bullying. No Way!Easter Parade—Last Day Thursday 29th March Next Thursday week, is our last day of Term 1, with school finishing on Thursday 29 March at 2.30pm. To conclude our first term of school for 2018, we will hold a special assembly at 9am. Students are encouraged to wear a home-madeEaster Bonnet for our parade at 9am. Children are encouraged to make their own Easter bonnet and Im sure families will lend a hand to encourage all to participate with a hat of some description. We ask for a gold coin donation on this day, to support our fundraising efforts. Our assembly will conclude with the drawing of our Easter Raffle Baskets. We have many baskets again, thanks to the generous donation of our school community. All families have a wonderful chance of winning a basket treat on Thursday. If you are able to join with us on the last day, we would love to see you at our Easter Bonnet Parade and final assembly, commencing at 9am in the school hall. Facilities Update As we quickly approach the term holidays, there will be a number of building projects undertaken during this time. The school hall will be completely repainted to freshen up its look. A number of classrooms will also be repainted to sharpen up their look. The last old buildingwill be demolished in the holidays and upon our return to school in term 2, our school will be preparing for our new buildings to arrive onsite for construction to commence. PREP 2019 Planning is already underway for 2019 Prep admissions. Families with younger brothers or sisters coming to FHPS next year are asked to complete your child’s enrolment form and submit it the school office. We ask current families to complete this process by the end of Term 1 to secure your child’s place prior to enrolments opening to new families in Term 2.

Please notify the school office if your child has this illness. Your child should be excluded from school until they have been granted medical clearance to return to school. Thank you for your co-operation.

Year 6 to Year 7 Transition To parents and guardians. Both Frankston High School at Mount Erin are having information sessions. Please make sure you make a booking with the high school to attend these sessions. I do recommend you go to the high school and see for yourself what programs they offer. I have had a few questions about the transition forms. We haven’t received the forms as of yet. Last year it was at the beginning of Term 2. They will be handed out as soon as I receive them. If you have any queries about your Year 6 child and high school please make an appointment to speak with me. Thank you Miss Deb Donoghue
