Firstly, thank you to everyone for your co-operation under

Alert Level 2 in regards to dropping off and picking up your child/ren

here at school.

It is important that we maintain our hygiene standards and record keeping requirements for

contact tracing.

To support us with contact tracing:

Please tick the lists which will be outside classrooms whenever you drop off or

pick up a child.

Drop off or pick up your child outside the classroom door.

Spend as little time as possible in this space. If you have to wait in this space,

please remember that physical distancing of 2 metres is recommended for parents

and caregivers from people they don’t know.

Once students are picked up from school, we ask that you vacate school grounds

as soon as possible.

All students need to go straight home after school.

These measures will remain in place until we are advised otherwise.

From the Ministry of Education – “Cabinet will again review the settings of Alert Level 2

on Monday June 8th and have decided that no later than Monday June 22nd, they will consider

a move to Alert Level 1”.

We will be sending student attendance data to the Ministry weekly, from 29 May. The

purpose of this is to:

report to the National Crisis Monitoring Centre and government on levels of

attendance during the COVID-19 period.

inform and support Ministry planning for students and schools returning to normal

operation

evaluate and report on the effectiveness of initiatives implemented by the Ministry to

respond and manage its response to COVID-19.

So please remember to notify the office if your child/ren are going to be absent.

Feel free to contact me or any of the staff if you have any queries.

We were going to have a Teacher Only day on Tuesday but as we have just started back at

school this has been postponed. We will inform you on the new date once it has been

decided.

Earthquake Procedure: This week we have all been practicing ‘Drop, Cover, Hold’ and

keeping all of the children safe and reassured. Remember to have a safety plan at home in the

event of an emergency.

Fruit in Schools: This will resume next week starting

Tuesday 2nd June.

Breakfast Club: This will resume once we have received

enough food and milk.

Water Only: Levin School is a 'water only'

school so please do not put juice in children's drink bottles. Please remember to

put a drink bottle of water in bags, whilst our drinking fountains are closed.

Uniforms: Remember to show ‘excellence’ by wearing the correct uniform – school polo

shirt, school polar fleece, black shoes and socks, black shorts, skorts, track pants or black

tights. Black long sleeved skivvies can be worn underneath the uniform.

We are selling some track pants, shorts and skorts for $5. These are good quality but we do

not have all sizes, so if you are interested come in and see Ms Pickering in the office.

Ensure all your child’s uniform is clearly marked.

Missing a green Levin School zip up jersey. The initials KM are written on the label. If you

find this at home, please return it to the school office.

School Desk and Chairs: We still have some school desks and chairs

for sale, $5 for a desk and chair. These are great for doing homework on.

Dates to remember:

Monday 1st June: No school, Queens Birthday.

Tuesday 2nd June: School as normal.

Friday 5th June: Assembly at 2 pm in the hall. Kowhai hosts. Everyone

welcome.

School Hours: Our school day starts at 8.55 am and finishes at 2.55 pm. It is important to

have your child here and ready to start their day on time. Children who arrive late disrupt the

whole class and miss out on important notices and learning time.

Attendance: Remember to notify the school if your child is going to be late or absent. By

downloading the free Skool Loop app. You will not use any of your data if you need to

contact the school.
