Principal’s Report Last week Temora and District celebrated local government week. Our 3/4 class performed, along with other primary schools, at the Temora Town Hall recalling history of the Shire. Our students provided information on the beginning of Narraburra Shire and Ariah Park involvement, the story of the Ariah Park swimming pool and told stories of John Davey, David Edis and Allan Harper. I would like to thank the efforts of Alyce Daniher and Frances Dywer for supporting our students with this performance. This Tuesday at 7.30pm the P&C will be gathering at the school to try out the new cappuccino machine served by some our hospitality students. This resource was funded by the P&C and I would like to thank them for their donations. All are welcome and whilst there will be a meeting agenda the night will take on a social atmosphere. Whole School News IMPORTANT HEALTH MESSAGES Can we please ask parents to keep their sick children at home? This includes children with coughs and or tummy bugs. These viruses spread rapidly in enclosed spaces, resulting in many sick children and staff. BIRTHDAY CAKES AND CELEBRATIONS While we appreciate that parents like to include all classmates in celebrations for their child, it is imperative that there is consultation with the classroom teacher beforehand. Many students have special dietary requirements and, in consideration of these requirements, preparations may need to be made for their involvement in these activities. Consideration of these needs and the welfare of these children and classroom management would be appreciated. Thank you APCS Executive

Temora Shire Council Youth Forum Eight students from Years 9-12 represented APCS at last Friday’s Temora Shire Council Youth Forum where Temora Shire Council invited young people to have a say, especially about

The Year 7/8 debating team, consisting of Adam and Matthew Prentice, Chris Ryall and Ellie Walker, will debate at St Anne’s on the 27th August and against Temora High at Ariah Park on the 3rd September. Thank you to parents for their support of these evening debates. If transport is required, please contact the school. Mrs Drumore Book Week Next week on Friday 23rd August, we will be celebrating Book Week with activities and a book character parade. Your child is allowed to dress up as their favourite book character. We will also be holding our Book Fair, from 10am – 1pm. Junior Footy News UNDER 11's - The boys played a good hard game, but were beaten by a better side on the day. The boys have had a great season and have been a good team to coach. The boys got off to a great start with the wind to have a lead at ¼ time. Ganmain fought back and had a slight lead at ½ time. 3rd quarter it was back and forth with Ganmain leading by 9 points at ¾ time. Our boys came out and kicked the 1st goal of the quarter closing the lead. But Ganmain fought back to kick the last couple of goals of the game to get the win. Final score Ganmain 43 defeated The Jets 23. It was hard to pick the best players as the whole team played well and they all tried very hard. To all the under 11's players thanks for a great year of football.
